Chapter 435 Yvette, Give Me a Child
The word "Dad" sounded strangely unreal to Albert's ears.
He looked at the innocent and lively CiCi in front of him, his body stiffening as he struggled to respond.
BoBo was also taken aback. He reached out to tug at CiCi's sleeve, trying to remind her that calling him that wasn't appropriate.
But Albert's tall and broad figure cast a shadow over both of them, making BoBo too scared to say anything.
Just as BoBo was hesitating, CiCi pouted and mumbled softly to Albert, "You said last time that you would be our dad from now on, but when I call you Dad, you don't respond."
CiCi's words carried a hint of grievance. Her big eyes blinked as she reluctantly let go of Albert's leg.
As she turned to go back to Yvette, Albert suddenly bent down and picked her up.
CiCi was startled by the sudden height and quickly wrapped her arms around Albert's neck.
Albert's Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he softly said, "I accept."
CiCi smiled and rubbed her soft little face against Albert's, clinging to his neck.
Feeling the small, soft body in his arms, exuding the unique scent of a child, Albert was noticeably nervous.
At first, he thought CiCi had mistaken him for someone else.
But CiCi's reaction clearly showed she recognized him as Albert.
The strange feeling of being called "Dad" by a child filled Albert's heart, bringing about an unfamiliar emotion that even quickened his heartbeat.
Albert looked down to see BoBo staring up at him.
BoBo's expression was as calm as ever, but his eyes held a hint of envy as he watched Albert and CiCi.
Albert smirked and bent down to pick up BoBo as well.
He glanced at BoBo, "Why don't you call me Dad?"
Albert didn't say much more, carrying the two kids as he strode towards home.
After a few steps, Albert suddenly stopped and turned to look at Yvette.
Yvette's face was filled with shock and disbelief. Her eyebrows were raised, her eyes wide, and her lips slightly parted.
Albert raised an eyebrow, "What? Do you need me to carry you home, too?"
Yvette sighed and followed along.
Watching Albert carry the two kids, and remembering how CiCi had unexpectedly called him "Dad," Yvette felt like everything was a bit surreal.
If only Albert could believe the kids were really his...
"Mommy, hurry up! Keep up, you're falling behind!"
CiCi's clear voice interrupted Yvette's thoughts.
Yvette composed herself, "I'm coming."
The sun was setting, painting the sky a deep orange, like a giant orange being squeezed, its juice spilling across the sky. The sun resembled a huge hot air balloon, slowly drifting away and becoming blurry.
The walk home wasn't far, but it felt long.
Albert held BoBo and CiCi tightly, the two kids laughing happily in his arms, their little hands waving as if playing with the sun in the sky.
Yvette walked beside them, and to her surprise, she found herself enjoying this warm moment.
Their shadows stretched long under the setting sun, like a beautiful painting.
BoBo and CiCi excitedly talked about their day at school.
"Niamh cried again today. She was sitting next to us and crying. The teacher couldn't calm her down," CiCi said proudly. "But BoBo and I are strong. We've never cried at preschool!"
"Really?" Albert asked. "Never?"
"Yeah!" CiCi beamed. "BoBo and I are behaving."
BoBo and CiCi chattered away, and by the time they reached home, the sun had set, leaving a golden afterglow.
Albert carried the kids inside, just as Beatrice was setting dinner on the table.
Seeing Albert take the kids to wash their hands, Beatrice's eyes shone with satisfaction.
"Mr. Valdemar, you're great with the kids. Mrs. Valdemar, you should take care of yourself and eat well for the sake of the children and this family."
Yvette paused and nodded, "Thank you."
It was late at night.
Yvette had just put the kids to bed and was hurrying through the living room to her bedroom.
She wanted to get to bed before Albert finished working in the study.
As she passed by Albert's study, even though she moved quietly, she still caught Albert's attention.
Yvette had just entered her room when Albert followed her in.
She looked up at him, unable to see his expression clearly in the dim light, so she didn't dare speak first.
Albert walked over to her. "Are they asleep?"
Yvette knew he was asking about BoBo and CiCi. "Yes."
"So late?" He glanced at his watch.
"Yeah," Yvette said helplessly. "They were so excited today, they wouldn't stop talking and didn't want to sleep."
"And then?"
Albert's expression didn't change, but Yvette thought she saw a soft curve to his lips, which was unlike him.
Yvette casually replied, "I had to use a bit of force to get them to sleep, or they wouldn't wake up for school tomorrow."
Albert chuckled softly and reached out to touch Yvette's hair. "Thank you."
His words made Yvette pause, realizing their conversation didn't match their current relationship.
It felt more like a normal couple talking about their kids.
The sudden, inexplicable warmth made Yvette's expression a bit unnatural.
She cleared her throat and changed the subject. "Are you done working?"
"No," Albert said, but he was unbuttoning his shirt.
Yvette was puzzled. "So you're going to bed?"
"Yes, no more work." He took off his shirt, tossed it aside, and started unbuckling his belt. "Time for something else."
Yvette quickly turned her head, pretending not to understand his meaning.
Albert leaned in and pulled Yvette into his arms.
He flipped them over, changing their positions, and she could instantly feel what Albert intended next.
Yvette frowned and tried to push him away, but Albert held her tightly.
The next second, his deep, magnetic voice whispered in her ear.
"Yvette, let's have a baby."
