Chapter 108 Vincent Miller Is in Trouble

Since Margaret didn't come into the office, Elsa enjoyed a few quiet days. With no interruptions, her work efficiency skyrocketed, and she was full of energy.

In the entire Dalton Banks design department, Elsa had the least education and experience, but her creative ideas and excellent drafts stood out.

Elsa was already recognized as the best intern and had a shot at becoming a full-time employee.

What made Elsa happiest was hearing that the Miller family had been blacklisted by the Prosperous Abundance Group.

The Prosperous Abundance Group was a big name in the national construction industry. Companies blacklisted by them would struggle to gain trust from other clients.

The Miller family had seen some improvement after Luke's investment, but now they were back to square one.

Because of this, Elsa had a smile on her face the past few days, no matter what she was doing.

How could Luke not know what Elsa was thinking? He just didn't approve of her sharp revenge.

Elsa refused to tell Luke the details of Leslie's suicide, and he couldn't place all the blame on the Miller family. So, to him, Luke's hatred for David seemed too obsessive.

"I won't stop you from doing what you want, but you should enjoy your life, not just live in hatred," Luke would sometimes say during moments of deep affection.

"Of course, my most important life goal right now is to become Mrs. Taylor," Elsa would reply nonchalantly. Clever as Luke was, he could easily tell which of her words were sincere and which were not, but he didn't want to argue about it all the time.

Ordinary girls who were lucky enough to marry into wealthy families were usually gentle and soft-spoken. But Elsa, despite her humble demeanor, had a proud spirit. Luke had long noticed that Elsa's ambitions lay elsewhere. She had only worn the pink diamond bracelet he gave her twice, and then put it in his cufflink and bow tie box.

Elsa didn't explicitly say she intended to return it to him. But that was exactly what she meant!

From Elsa's attitude, it was clear that even if Luke offered her property shares, she might not care.

Every time he thought about this, Luke would get angry! He could only deceive himself by ignoring the matter to get along peacefully with Elsa.

The Miller family, having suffered a loss, would never let it go. Luke, always thinking ahead, had already quietly strengthened the security around Elsa to prevent her from getting hurt again.

But no matter how much he guarded, there were always things he couldn't prevent. While Elsa was safe, Vincent got into trouble.

On the weekend, Luke was handling business in his study when he heard a commotion outside.

"Mrs. Taylor, where are you rushing off to? Put on your coat before you leave!" Lisa's anxious voice sounded outside, followed by the sound of Elsa, who had been reading in the bedroom, running downstairs.

Just as Luke was about to go out and see what was going on, Elsa had already sped off from the garage.

The only person who could make Elsa so anxious was Vincent.

So Luke called Karida to find out what had happened.

Karida knew what Luke wanted to ask and explained the situation before he could speak.

"Vincent Miller had an acute right heart failure after a heart transplant. You better come quickly. It doesn't look good," she said.

When Luke arrived at the hospital, Elsa was already waiting outside the emergency room.

In the late autumn, Elsa was curled up on a hospital bench in a thin silk nightgown, staring blankly ahead. She didn't even notice when Luke arrived.

Luke didn't say anything. He silently took off his coat and wrapped it around Elsa. Her unfocused eyes looked over, filled with deep sorrow.
