Chapter 55 Sleep in the Master Bedroom

Regardless, Elsa couldn't sleep anymore.

She looked up Margaret on the internet. It wasn't difficult to find Margaret's name in conjunction with her family background.

She was five years older than her and was the well-known founder of a jewelry brand, and had a face like a princess from a Disney animation, pure and sweet.

And the scandal between her and Luke was even more exciting.

Chloe had told the story of Luke spending millions of dollars just to make Margaret smile once, in a very subtle way, but various message posts on Instagram described it as exciting.

The widely circulated version was that Margare had married into the Western Australian financial family under family pressure, causing Luke to no longer believe in love and devote himself wholeheartedly to work. In two years, Luke turned Taylo Incorporation into a billion-dollar asset, a leader in the country.

And when Luke and Karen's engagement had been announced this year, Margaret divorced her husband.

'Maybe she's returned to reconcile with Luke,' Elsa thought silently.

Luke probably wouldn't come back, and she couldn't sleep either, so she simply went to the small garden outside to light a cigarette and look at the moon.

'I've only been married for less than a week, but I've encountered a formidable rival. This is truly a series of trials. But it'll still be okay as long as Luke isn't going to marry Karen.'

Elsa sat on the outdoor lounge chair, thinking helplessly amidst the smoke.

Luke didn't owe her anything. It was only natural for him to pursue his own love. She couldn't be so selfish. But she had to give way just a few days after getting married and before she even settled into the position of Mrs. Taylor, which was a bit frustrating.

The villa door suddenly opened. Luke's Kuranan headlights were dazzling.

'Why is he back? He should be spending the night with Margaret. He doesn't think I'm waiting for him, does he? I'm behaving too much like a resentful woman,' she thought.

The cigarette in her hand was taken away.

"Why are you back?" She looked at him, somewhat bewildered.

Luke casually took the half-smoked cigarette from her and put it between his lips, frowning. "You're not asleep yet? I guess you were waiting for me."

Elsa felt inexplicably embarrassed.

"I'm not. I'm about to go to bed." She stood up, flicked the nonexistent cigarette ash off her nightgown, and walked back inside.

"Hello, Miss Miller." Margaret got out of the passenger seat and smiled brightly at Elsa.

It turned out she had brought her family along so quickly. Elsa raised an eyebrow at Luke.

"My parents rest early, and I'm afraid I'll disturb them if I go back now, so I'll stay here for one night. Miss Miller, I hope you don't mind."

Under the courtyard lights, Margaret looked much more beautiful than she had in the photos. Her face was reminiscent of Julia Roberts in her prime.

She called Elsa Miss Miller instead of Mrs. Taylor, which was a subtle declaration of authority.

"Of course, Ms. Collins, feel free. After all, I'm just staying here." Elsa had nothing much to say. If she insisted on making Margaret leave, Luke might just kick her out overnight.

She just nodded and entered the house.

Luke suddenly felt a bit annoyed as he watched her slender figure.

'What is this woman up to again? She's smoking in the yard late at night, and what does she mean she just stays here?'

Upstairs, Elsa hesitated again.

Luke's first love had returned, so it seemed inappropriate for her to sleep in the master bedroom.

"Ms. Collins, the bed in the master bedroom is more comfortable, so you should sleep in the master bedroom." She said to Margaret, deciding to be a good person. She grabbed her pillow and blanket and headed toward the guest room.

"I would be inconveniencing you, Ms. Miller." Margaret nodded without refusing.

Luke reached out and pulled Elsa back by the waist.

"Margaret, I had Lisa prepare the guest room for you and it's right next door, so you should sleep in the guest room." Luke's tone brooked no argument.

There was a flash of grievance on Margaret's beautiful face, but she nodded gracefully and followed the servant to the guest room.

'Margaret has been recognized as a great beauty. She could win the Miss Universe pageant, and combined with her family background and career, I can't compare.' Elsa felt a bit disheartened as she Watched Margaret leave.
