Chapter 140 Jonathan Green Heroically Saves the Beauty

After a whole night of running around with Joe for check-ups, Luke was totally wiped. When Elsa called, Joe was in the MRI, and Margaret was bawling outside. Feeling annoyed, he hung up fast.

It was normal for cancer to spread and get worse in late stages, but Margaret was too emotional, so Luke had to stick around for Joe.

It wasn't until after 9 PM that Luke, physically and mentally drained, left the hospital and drove home solo.

He wondered if Elsa was asleep by now. Luke remembered she seemed to have something important to say when she called earlier. So, while waiting at a red light, he tried to call her. Seeing a ton of notifications on Facebook, he realized something was off.

'Why would Elsa be dealing with Dylan? That old bastard, how dare he try to mess with her!' Luke thought, his face turning cold instantly.

Luke called Elsa, but her phone was off!

"Urgently contact all city police to find Dylan Jones's whereabouts!" he demanded.

Luke quickly hit up Max, who finally spilled the whole situation.

"Sylvie didn't stop her?" Luke's face turned super dark.

"Designers often meet clients over dinner, especially for big orders. Why would Sylvie stop her?" Max answered cautiously.

That made sense. Although Elsa was Luke's wife, she was also an employee of Dalton Banks.

Elsa called to tell Luke about this and probably wanted his advice. But he had been so impatient that he didn't give her a chance to speak.

When Luke and Max found Elsa at the Summit Retreat Club entrance, a few men in suits had just finished throwing punches.

Jonathan was holding Elsa by the roadside, his casual suit shirt missing several buttons. Dylan looked worse, with bruised eyes and a bleeding nose.

Seeing Luke approach with a chilling aura, Dylan involuntarily shrank back.

"She was drugged by Dylan and is unconscious now," Jonathan said, handing Elsa to Luke.

"Thanks." Luke took her and held her tightly, not sparing Dylan a glance.

"Max, handle the aftermath," he ordered.

"Don't you have other doctor friends?" Karida, who had just gotten into bed at 10:30 PM, was dragged back to the hospital by Luke, full of resentment.

"Cut the crap. Elsa was drugged by Dylan Jones. Come over quickly." Luke's tone was emotionless, but his slightly clenched fists betrayed his anxiety.

For a moment, Luke even felt that Elsa in his arms was so fragile she might die any second.

"That serious?" Karida stopped complaining and quickly called for medical staff.

He saw the panic on Luke's face, the same as the night Elsa self-harmed.

Elsa was weak and allergic to the drug, which was why she remained unconscious for so long.

After administering an IV and medication, Luke stayed at the hospital until dawn, but Elsa still hadn't woken up.

At 2 AM, Max finally called.

"Mr. Taylor, within three days, Dylan will come to apologize in person. Additionally, he will pay three times the contract amount, which is $5 million."

Dylan was a prominent figure in Maplewood City. This outcome arose from the considerable pressure exerted on Dylan by Max, Jonathan, and their respective partners.

"Is that all?" Luke was very dissatisfied.

Max reported, "Mr. Taylor, after all, he is the head of the Jones family. This is the best we can do."

"Tell Dylan that there's no need to apologize in person. Elsa wouldn't want to see him," Luke stated coldly.

Even over the phone, Max shivered at Luke's icy tone.

"If he likes women so much, let him have his fill! I don't need to spell it out, do I?" Luke's tone was murderous, and Max was startled again.

Elsa woke up at that moment. She sat up, leaning against the headboard, staring blankly at Luke's back.

Perhaps noticing the movement behind him, Luke hung up the phone and immediately turned around.

Luke and Elsa's eyes met. Elsa's gaze was still dazed from just waking up, her face pale, and her lips colorless.

"Sorry." Luke frowned, wishing he could punch himself.
