Chapter 208 I'm Leaving with Margaret

Luke was pretty much wasted. He just gave Margaret a quick look.

But Karida, with a sly grin, turned to Terry.

"Wasn't me who called her," Terry said honestly. He had no clue why Margaret would show up at the bar this late.

"Margaret, it's super late. Why aren't you with Uncle Joe? How'd you end up here?" Karida asked, thinking Margaret was pretty heartless. Joe was seriously ill, but that didn't stop her from chasing after Luke.

Margaret caught the hint in her words and blushed.

"A friend saw Luke drinking here. I got worried, so I came to check on him," Margaret said.

"Worried?" Karida looked at her, surprised.

Margaret, realizing her feelings were obvious, felt a bit embarrassed. She said, "How about this? You guys head back first. I'll take care of Luke and make sure he gets home safe."

Terry was at a loss for words. But Karida refused, "No need. My driver's outside. I'll take Luke back."

"Can't you give me this chance?" Margaret bit her lip, standing her ground.

"Margaret, Luke is married."

Luke, totally hammered, was barely holding on.

He propped his arms on the table, one hand supporting his chin, the other tapping the table randomly. "I'll go with Margaret."

"What did you say?" Karida thought she misheard. Didn't Luke just say he didn't want a divorce?

"I'll go with Margaret." Luke wobbled as he stood up and walked over to Margaret.

"Luke," Terry finally couldn't hold back and spoke up.

"Tell Elsa, if she doesn't come to get me tonight, I'm Margaret's." Luke stumbled and almost fell.

Margaret quickly rushed over to support Luke. When she looked back at Terry and Karida, a triumphant smile graced her lips.

As Margaret helped Luke out the door, Karida immediately called her driver to follow Margaret's car and then looked at Terry. "What do we do?"

"We can't tell Elsa exactly what Luke said." Terry lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.

Elsa and Luke were making each other jealous and refusing to back down. This would only make things worse.

"Then you tell her," Karida said.

So Terry used Karida's phone to call Elsa.

With Luke gone, Elsa had been tossing and turning in bed for hours, unable to sleep. Her anger had subsided a bit, and thinking about how good Luke usually was to her, she felt she should have a good talk with him.

[Where are you? Come back and let's talk.] Elsa texted Luke at 10 PM, but he didn't reply.

[Luke, don't just leave home whenever you're upset. Come back and let's talk.] Elsa texted again at 11 PM, but still no reply from Luke.

Elsa's anger, which had just subsided, flared up again.

Around midnight, Karida's call came in.

"Mr. Griffin," Elsa quickly answered.

"It's me," Terry said. "Luke drank a lot and is completely out of it. Margaret just came with several bodyguards, knocked Karida and me down, and took Luke away. You need to come save him."

Karida, listening to Terry, couldn't help but give him a thumbs up.

"Send me the location," Elsa said, her tone revealing no emotion.
