Chapter 235 Margaret's Tactics

Ernesto finished ordering and looked over.

"I'll head over first," she nodded to Elsa and Luke, leaving quickly for the first time.

Watching her leave, Elsa's face remained calm, but she couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief inside.

Margaret was willing to let go of Luke, and she should be happy about it.

Debbie had also heard about her pregnancy. Although she hadn't visited, she had already prepared many gifts for her future grandchild and was even planning to buy land to build a children's playground.

Everything was moving in a good direction.

As for the Miller family, it is almost time to resolve everything

Elsa placed her hand on her belly, feeling a bit lost.

For some reason, the sudden arrival of happiness made her uneasy.

"What are you thinking about?" Luke scooped a bit of scallop meat with a small spoon and fed it to her, trying to get her attention.

"I suddenly feel like I'm too happy," Elsa said with a smile as she ate.

"Me too," Luke was charmed by her smiling face.

Having lived for over twenty years, he has recently felt the most happiness he has ever experienced.

When he woke up, Elsa was beside him, in his arms, and she was carrying their child.

That kind of mundane, ordinary happiness was easy to get lost in.

But Elsa's intuition was spot on; it wasn't long before new waves began to stir in their lives.

Joe's health was deteriorating day by day, and Margaret, despite having a boyfriend, started to trouble Luke with all sorts of matters again.

Elsa could tolerate finding a medical team for Joe and related matters, but Margaret calling in the middle of the night crying because Ernesto kissed her forcefully was a bit too much, wasn't it?

Luke was naturally a cold person and not good at comforting women. When he took Margaret's call, all he could say was "Don't cry," and then he had nothing more to say.

After Margaret hung up, Elsa frowned, questioning, "What does she mean?"

Luke answered, "I don't know. Perhaps she feels that things are progressing too quickly. After all, Margaret is quite conservative."

"You think she's conservative?" Elsa was speechless.

If Margaret was considered conservative, then she was a pure saint.

Luke pulled Elsa into his arms, reassuring her in a gentle voice, "Don't worry about her. You need to sleep."

A few days later, Elsa woke up in the middle of the night to get some water, only to find the bed next to her empty!

She touched the cold side of the bed, realizing Luke had been gone for a while.

The first person she thought of who could make him leave in the middle of the night was Margaret.

She called Luke, who was driving, sounding a bit rushed, "Something happened with Margaret. Why are you awake? Return to sleep."

"She has parents and a boyfriend. What could be so important that you have to go out in the middle of the night?" Elsa felt speechless, and her tone became sharp.

Elsa had thought that with a boyfriend, Margaret would keep her promise not to bother them, but who knew she would become even more excessive.

"It's precisely because she has a boyfriend that it's dangerous!" Luke's tone was also a bit annoyed, "Go back to sleep, I'll explain when I get back."

Elsa also started to act up, saying, "I can't sleep. I have nightmares when you're not here."

Luke was silent for a moment, "Then you can play with your phone for a while, or watch some TV."

Luke's tone softened, but his words were still annoying.

Elsa hung up silently, unable to sleep all night.

She knew it wasn't that simple; how could Margaret give up so easily?

It seemed that the "boyfriend" was just a ploy to lower their guard.

Would she have to spend the rest of her life on edge, fearing that Luke would be taken away by her?

Maybe it was the unstable pregnancy hormones, but Elsa felt very uncomfortable.
