Chapter 381 Lara

The woman with striking white hair had an aged face, and when she smiled, wrinkles blossomed around her lips and eyes, with the passage of time evident in her gaze.

Her white hair was natural, not a fashion statement. She looked to be around 60, but considering she could drive a Ferrari and seemed well-maintained, she was likely older.

Chloe and Elsa were initially surprised but quickly regained their composure.

"Why are you changing the spare tire yourself? You could call roadside assistance," Elsa said, squatting down to find the car's jack point and positioning the jack.

"No need, I can handle it myself," the elderly woman replied, though she allowed Chloe and Elsa to help her remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare. She stood by with her arms crossed, watching them with a satisfied smile.

A striking scene of a graceful elderly lady and two attractive young women changing a Ferrari's tire on the roadside caught the attention of many passing drivers, some of whom took photos and even posted them online.

"Need any help?" a kind-hearted male driver asked, rolling down his window as he passed by.

"No, thanks," the two girls replied without looking up, tightening the last lug nut and standing up.

"This spare tire isn't meant for long-term use. You should head to the nearest service center," Chloe suggested to the elderly woman.

"Alright," the woman smiled, retrieving her phone from the passenger seat.

"Can I get your contact info?" she asked, though she had already pulled up her WhatsApp QR code.

It was a simple favor, but seeing the elderly woman so proactive, the two girls added her without hesitation.

Her WhatsApp name was her real name, Lara Crawford.

Such a unique name, where had they heard it before?

Elsa racked her brain and remembered that Jonathan's mother, the legal representative of Prosperous Abundance Group, was also named Lara.

The age matched, and upon closer inspection, Lara's features resembled those of the young woman in the photos on the King Villa's wall.

Could the world be this small? Last year, Eric mentioned his grandmother would visit when the weather warmed up.

"Well, we'll be heading back now. Take care on the road," Elsa said, hiding her curiosity behind a calm demeanor.

"I'm from Lakeshire City, visiting my grandson here. It seems we were meant to meet. Why don't you two come over sometime?" Lara invited, leaning out of her car.

Lakeshire City, grandson. It had to be Eric's grandmother, Lara.

"Sure, we'll definitely visit if we get the chance," Chloe replied politely, while Elsa just nodded, marveling at the twist of fate.

Lara nodded, "I'll send you the location. Come over for afternoon tea this Saturday."

She drove off swiftly.

Back in their car, Chloe was still in awe. "She's so cool and beautiful. Seeing someone her age like that makes getting old seem less scary."

"She's Eric's grandmother, Jonathan's mother," Elsa suddenly said, causing Chloe to grip the steering wheel tightly, making the car swerve slightly.

"How do you know?"

After Elsa explained, Chloe's palms were sweaty as she recalled their interaction.

Jonathan's mother? Did she make a good impression?

"She does resemble Mr. King," Chloe noted. No wonder she felt a sense of familiarity.

"Why, do you get sensitive when Mr. King is mentioned?" Elsa teased, knowing Chloe's shy nature.

Seeing Chloe remain silent, Elsa continued, "It's strange, isn't it? I'm usually very guarded, but seeing her felt like meeting a family member. Maybe it's because my mother looks a lot like Lara."

She had felt the same way when she first met Jonathan.
