Chapter 363 Easy to Please
"What are you doing here?"
The factory was in the suburbs, and it was already 11 PM when Elsa finished her livestream. She never expected anyone to be waiting outside and was startled by Luke.
How did he get in? Didn't the security guard stop him?
She had a lollipop in her mouth, given by a colleague, and almost choked on her own saliva.
"Stomachache during the livestream, and you didn't think to leave early?" Luke didn't answer Elsa's question. He grabbed her arm and led her to his car.
How did he know she had a stomachache?
"What are you doing?" Elsa stood still, refusing to move. Because of the pain, her demeanor was much weaker.
"Going for a late-night snack." Probably afraid of hurting her, Luke's grip was gentle, and his voice was especially soft in the quiet night.
Waiting for her in the middle of the night for a late-night snack? Elsa was starving and uncomfortable. Remembering her responsibility to negotiate with Jonny, she didn't argue with him and silently got into the car.
As soon as she sat in the passenger seat, a cup was placed in her hand, and the lollipop was taken from her mouth.
"Drink a little chicken soup first."
Elsa raised an eyebrow slightly, then smiled, "Okay."
The chicken soup was still steaming. Elsa took a few sips, and a warm feeling spread through her stomach, making her feel much better.
"Thank you." She turned to thank him, only to find Luke, who was focused on driving, with the lollipop he had taken from her mouth in his own.
Elsa thought this was even more suggestive than if Luke had kissed her directly, making her imagination run wild. She blushed suddenly.
They drove from the suburbs to the city center and went to a Hong Kong-style restaurant. Elsa sat across from Luke, and after finishing the chicken soup, her complexion looked much better.
Luke flipped through the menu and couldn't help but laugh, "You're easy to please, just give you food and you're happy."
"I'm easy to please." Elsa retorted instinctively.
After saying that, she realized she had misspoken and quickly fell silent.
This kind of conversation was too ambiguous and inappropriate given their relationship.
Elsa's cheeks were burning as she looked at Luke's teasing eyes, making her almost lose her appetite.
Luke ordered some easily digestible dishes and served Elsa a bowl of porridge.
"How did you know I had a stomachache?" Elsa picked up the bowl of porridge and finally remembered to ask.
Did he watch the livestream? But she felt she had been very composed during the livestream, not giving anything away.
Luke didn't answer.
If he told her that he had followed her to the hospital and then back to the factory, and even watched her livestream on his phone, it would make him seem too much like a stalker.
Luke believed he knew Elsa well enough.
He noticed her subtly furrowing her brows and using a book to press against her stomach during the livestream, which made him realize something was wrong. He immediately had Max send some soup over.
But how could Luke say any of this?
The more nonchalant Luke appeared, the more uneasy Elsa felt.
Such a decisive person could be so attentive to her, yet she couldn't give him any promises.
Elsa's nose tingled, and she buried her head in the bowl, remaining silent for a long time.
When she looked up again, she met Luke's eyes, which seemed to want to absorb her.
"I..."
She didn't want to remarry; she just wanted to focus on her current tasks, finish her studies abroad next year. But looking into those deep eyes, she couldn't bring herself to say it.
"Am I here to morally coerce you?" Luke saw through her thoughts and frowned in displeasure. "Eat. Just do whatever you want to do!"
In the past, he only wanted to get her back and keep her by his side. Now, he felt he could wait for her and was willing to do so.
