Chapter 338 The Prairie

Max was quite surprised to hear that Luke was going to the prairie.

Luke's schedule was always packed, and with so many things left undone, why was he suddenly going on a trip?

"But there's an important client coming from Tarasia this week."

"You handle it," Luke said without hesitation.

"What if I mess it up?"

"Max, I pay you millions of dollars a year, not to hear you talk about difficulties," Luke's tone turned cold.

Max was also blocked, unable to see Elsa's updates, but he had a gut feeling that this had something to do with her.

He checked the LEO Gems Company website, and sure enough, the latest event showed Leo leading a group of designers to the prairie.

They were divorced, yet Luke was still chasing her to the prairie.

"Mr. Thompson, do you think Luke will like these outfits?" Hailey sent several photos.

"Of course, Ms. Phillips looks good in anything," Max replied diplomatically, though he silently pitied her.

Luke only had eyes for Elsa; he wouldn't care what Hailey wore. Maybe he agreed to let her come along just to use the excuse of accompanying his girlfriend as a cover.

"But it's so strange. I asked Luke to watch a movie with me, and he said he was too busy. Now he's suddenly going to the prairie?" Hailey also sensed something was off, but she wasn't sharp enough to figure it out.

Initially, Leo's team visited commercial tourist spots. After three days, everyone felt it wasn't enough, so they found some locals to lead them deeper into the pastoral areas by off-road vehicles.

As far as the eye could see, wind turbines stood among the grass and wildflowers, herders rode horses driving cattle, sheep, and horses, galloping from afar and gradually fading into the distance. The sounds of animals, herders' whistles, and the howling wind were incessant.

Elsa gazed at the vast expanse outside, excited by the running animals and the sea of green. The deeper they went, the more her mind felt liberated.

There were no inns or hotels in the pastoral area; even the roads were newly built by the government to boost the economy. They were told they would have to stay in local herders' homes and eat local food.

"This is so authentic; I can even smell the horse manure," said a designer in the same car, making everyone laugh.

Their convoy consisted of black off-road vehicles, easily recognizable by the red ribbons tied to the side mirrors.

Following their convoy at a not-too-close, not-too-far distance were two conspicuous cars, accompanied by several galloping figures on horseback, led by local herders.

Among the riders, one stood out.

He wore sunglasses, but from his high nose bridge and sharp jawline, it was clear he had a handsome face.

His tall and upright figure made him stand out among the herders, hard to ignore.

Moreover, while the other herders wore ordinary clothes, he was dressed in a tweed riding jacket, tight pants, and leather boots—a full equestrian outfit, looking like a noble knight fresh off the racetrack compared to the others.

It was Luke. Elsa knew him too well and recognized him in just a minute.

Despite growing up in luxury, his masculine aura wasn't overshadowed by these men who had been riding horses since childhood. Instead, he exuded a noble elegance on top of his bravery.

"Nature really plays favorites," Elsa sighed.

"Are there men like that on the prairie?" a designer also noticed him and swallowed hard.

Leo clearly noticed Luke too and fell silent.

Why was he here? Was it because of her?

Elsa couldn't figure it out. Didn't he have a girlfriend? And would Hailey agree?

"Drive faster," Elsa urged.

The driver stepped on the gas, and soon the sound of hooves faded away.

The two designers in the car were still discussing Luke.

"Don't drive too fast! We can't see him anymore!"

"He's really handsome!"
