Chapter 405 Throwing Sulfuric Acid

According to the plan, Elsa was supposed to serve coffee to Lara, who was seated on the stage. As she stepped onto the stage, the ceremonial staff hadn't even handed her the cup yet when a disheveled woman dressed in black, carrying a small blue bucket, pushed through the crowd and approached the stage.

"Elsa, you wretch, you devil! Today, I'm taking you down with me!"

It wasn't until the woman spoke that Elsa realized it was Margaret.

How did she get out? Elsa shot a questioning look at Luke, who had been lounging in his chair but now sat up straight.

Elsa wasn't afraid of Margaret, but having her disrupt the event was certainly a mood killer.

"Margaret, stop this madness!" Elsa shouted sternly.

Margaret let out an eerie, cold laugh.

Where were the security guards? How could they let a unstable woman get in without stopping her?

Jonathan, who was waiting on the other side of the stage, noticed the commotion.

"Go get security and have her removed. Don't make a scene," he quietly instructed his assistant, who quickly went to find help.

Margaret continued to advance, muttering incoherently, when someone suddenly shouted, "She's got acid in that bucket!"

Panic ensued.

People scattered to avoid getting caught in the chaos. Margaret had already raised the bucket towards Elsa.

Luke instinctively moved to intervene but was yanked back forcefully. Amidst the screams, Terry tackled Margaret to the ground.

Terry grabbed Margaret's arm just in time, preventing the acid from hitting Elsa.

Instead, most of it spilled onto the floor, with some splashing onto Terry's arm. He gasped in pain but held onto Margaret.

"Help him!" Luke and Karida's shouts echoed in his ears as Terry, with a relieved smile, finally passed out from the pain.

The event was cut short due to the incident.

Margaret was taken away by the police, and Luke and Karida rushed Terry to the hospital. The King family stayed behind to handle the aftermath.

Lara sat in silence, her face dark with anger, while Jonathan, usually the calm one, slammed his hand on the table in fury.

"What is the hotel's security system for? I paid so much money, and you can't even keep one person out?!"

The thought of what could have happened if the acid had hit Elsa made him shudder.

The hotel's security staff and management stood trembling, too scared to speak in front of Jonathan.

It was the first time Elsa had seen Jonathan so angry. She crossed her arms and stood coldly to the side. "Pull up the surveillance footage from this time. I will be pressing charges for negligence."

The staff turned pale, shaking and too frightened to respond.

At that moment, Giselle stepped forward and, in front of everyone, slapped herself.

"It's my fault. I lost something and got angry with them, saying I'd complain if they didn't find it. They were all busy looking for my stuff, and that's how Margaret got in." Her voice quivered, tears welling up, making her look even more pitiful.

"I didn't know something like this would happen. I almost got Elsa hurt."

Giselle, frail and in the late stages of cancer, stood before Jonathan, struggling to hold back her tears. It was a heart-wrenching sight.

"What did you lose?" Jonathan's anger softened slightly as he asked her gently.
