Chapter 252 I Don't Want
Luke didn't even know how he got home. He was in a daze, finding it hard to concentrate in the car.
Luckily, Elsa was still alive, but she was going to leave him urgently.
It must have been a relapse of her depression when she was crying and laughing in her room before she slit her wrists.
He hadn't had the chance to tell her that he had sped up the process of taking down the Miller family for her.
When Luke returned to the villa, he suppressed his heartache and arranged for the company's legal department to come over.
"She likes jewelry design. Transfer the shares of Dalton Banks to her. This villa, prepare a gift contract as a backup. If she refuses, give her two other properties."
Luke leaned his head against the back of the chair and instructed the company legal specialist.
"Mr. Taylor, these are all your premarital assets. As long as you provide simple proof, you can keep them," the legal specialist, highly competent, couldn't help but offer advice at this moment.
Luke shot him a cold glance, and he fell silent.
Since the divorce was inevitable, what Luke needed to do was ensure Elsa's well-being for the rest of her life. The Miller family couldn't stir up any more trouble. After avenging her, her life had to go on.
She had suffered for so many years. From now on, she must live a life free from worry and full of happiness.
He wondered if he would still have a chance to pursue her after the divorce.
Since Elsa was so stubborn, leaving might mean forever.
Even though they were getting divorced, he was still thinking about Elsa. He never thought he would become so humble one day. No wonder Elsa called him pathetic yesterday.
The next day, when they met in the hospital room, Elsa's spirits had noticeably improved. She even put on some lipstick.
"Let's get divorced after signing the papers," Luke said.
"I was thinking the same." Elsa replied.
They each took out a contract.
Elsa wanted to repay money, while Luke wanted to give money. Both were completely one-sided agreements meant for the other's benefit.
Even Chloe, Max, and Karida, who were in the know, couldn't stand it.
"Mr. Taylor, Ms. Miller, since you both still care so much for each other, maybe you should reconsider the divorce." Max couldn't help but intercede.
"I don't want your money, Luke. If you still respect me, follow my contract." Elsa frowned at Luke's agreement.
"If you don't sign, I won't agree to the divorce," Luke had regained his cold, authoritative demeanor after a night of adjustment.
"Luke, can't we handle this with some dignity?" Elsa raised her voice.
Since the day they decided to divorce, she had been emphasizing dignity.
"It's up to you. Don't think you can threaten me with suicide again." Luke sat by the hospital bed, legs crossed, a stack of agreements on his lap. "Elsa, if you really die, what about Vincent?"
It was a negotiation where both prioritized the other's interests, but it sounded like a couple fighting over assets in a divorce.
With the door open, people were already peeking in.
"That man is too much, refusing to give his wife any money for the divorce and using her family to threaten her." a passerby sneered.
Max quickly went over and closed the door tightly.
