Chapter 86 Prosperous Abundance Group Banquet

At noon, Elsa really went to Luke's office for lunch.

Under Luke's supervision, she drank half a bowl of chicken soup and was fed a few bites of light dishes. Elsa then said she had no appetite and escaped from the table.

Luke had ordered himself some pasta. After finishing it, he naturally picked up Elsa's leftover chicken soup and finished it in two or three gulps.

Elsa watched from the sofa, her cheeks flushing again.

Luke was famously a germaphobe, so his calmness in eating her leftovers surprised Elsa.

The office had good lighting, and the sofa was comfortable, so Elsa soon felt sleepy.

Unknowingly, Elsa fell asleep in Luke's arms and was carried into the lounge.

"Make sure to wake me up at one-thirty," Elsa mumbled.

"Okay," Luke said, kissing Elsa on the lips.

When Elsa woke up and went to work on the 15th floor, everyone's attitude was drastically different from the morning.

Everyone was polite, nodding and bowing.

But Elsa acted as if nothing had happened.

As evening approached quickly, when it was time to get off work, Elsa hurriedly grabbed her things and went downstairs. Chloe's car was already waiting outside.

"Quick, put this on," Chloe said, handing Elsa a dress.

It was a very elaborate white dress adorned with diamonds, and its texture indicated it was expensive.

"Didn't have the time to order a new one. I've only worn this dress once. I had the tailor take in the waist a bit for you. Just make do with it."

"Okay, thank you very much."

Elsa changed in the back seat and quickly did a simple touch-up on her makeup.

She also wore the pink diamond bracelet that Luke had given her on her wrist. After all, she was attending as Chloe's friend and needed to keep up appearances.

The Prosperous Abundance Group's banquet was held at the largest star-rated hotel in Maplewood City, with the host generously booking the entire venue.

When Elsa and Chloe got out of the car, Elsa was all set.

"You look stunning!" Chloe exclaimed as she looked at Elsa.

With golden wavy hair, Elsa wore white high-slit dress revealing her delicate collarbones. Her legs were concealed within the dress when she was still, but exuded charm when she moved.

Elsa's pink diamond bracelet on her fair arm added a touch of pampered beauty.

Each guest was allowed to bring a companion, so Elsa smoothly signed in with Chloe and entered the venue.

A world of opulence presented before her, with everything sparkling under the crystal chandeliers.

Elsa followed behind Chloe, weaving through faces that were only visible on financial magazines. She made up her mind to find an opportunity to meet the main host.

"Elsa Miller, you managed to sneak in too?  Luke Taylor didn't want to bring you, so you had to rely on a friend?" A familiar, annoying voice sounded in her ear. Elsa looked up and saw David's family's repulsive faces.

"Guess why I'm here?" Elsa looked at Karen with disdain and smiled slightly.

"I warn you, Elsa Miller. Don't try any tricks. If the Miller Group's cooperation with the Prosperous Abundance Group goes wrong, I won't let you off!" Phyllis warned urgently.

"Oh, you really scared me!" Elsa exaggeratedly patted her chest. "Mrs. Langley, you really have connections everywhere."

"Elsa Miller, Margaret Collins is back. Let's see how long you can stay smug!" Karen said.

"Karen Miller, isn't it time for you to face reality?" Chloe shot a disdainful glance. "Stop talking nonsense. Whatever tricks you have, we'll see if the Clark family agrees to it first."

Chloe pulled Elsa away, leaving David, Karen, and Phyllis behind.

Watching Elsa and Chloe's backs, Phyllis gritted her teeth in anger and said, "That wretched woman, she must have a complicated purpose for being here today."

Remembering something, she asked Karen, "By the way, did you contact Margaret Collins?"

"Got it. Don't worry, Mother. The enemy of my enemy is my friend." In winning people's hearts, Karen was more skilled than anyone.
