Chapter 47 Do You Love Me
Luke was very efficient. After the afternoon interviews, the villa was already bustling with about seven or eight people at night, including a butler, gardener, maid, cook, and others.
By seven o'clock, someone politely invited the lady downstairs for dinner.
Elsa hadn't left the room all afternoon. When she stepped out and saw the sudden influx of people in the villa, she felt quite uncomfortable.
"What's going on?"
"Madam, I am your servant Lisa Moore. I will be taking care of your daily needs from now on." A middle-aged woman in her fifties took the initiative to introduce herself to Elsa.
Elsa used to have a few years of being chauffeured and cared for by a nanny when she was young, but she had grown accustomed to a modest life. Suddenly being attended to by others made her feel uneasy.
"I don't need anyone to attend to me." Elsa said to Luke while Lisa went to the kitchen to fetch something. Being someone who sold alcohol at an entertainment club, coming home to have servants wait on her would invite ridicule from others.
Luke had anticipated her reaction. He calmly said, "For the Taylor family's young madam to be without even a single servant would be embarrassing. I have a reputation to uphold."
Elsa pondered Luke's words. After all, she was the Taylor family's young madam now, so she had to consider the Taylor family's reputation. But then, her job would also have an awful impact on Luke.
Elsa was torn for a moment. Vincent's illness was a bottomless pit, and finding another high-paying job wouldn't be easy. Yet, not resigning would indeed tarnish the Taylor family.
She was preoccupied. So she was distracted during the meal.
"Madam, is the food not to your liking?" Lisa hurriedly asked.
"Are you in pain?" Luke had noticed her expression earlier and casually inquired.
He had hit her with a lot of force, and she seemed delicate. Could she be in too much pain to eat?
After a moment of thought, Elsa understood Luke's meaning.
She blinked and suddenly began to act in front of Luke.
"It hurts, it's so painful! I need my husband to massage it to feel better." She dropped her cutlery and weakly leaned into Luke's arms. Seeing this, Lisa blushed and quietly retreated.
Luke's heart, heavy with sorrow all day, finally cleared up.
He quietly held Elsa in his lap, slowly lifted a bowl of consommé soup to feed her. Since she hadn't eaten her lunch in a huff, Luke didn't dare to act recklessly. He needed to make her eat something.
Elsa behaved obediently, finishing a bowl of soup and some dishes until she couldn't eat anymore, showing a pained expression. Luke asked in a deep voice, "Are you full?"
Seeing Elsa nod, Luke began to slowly massage the area he had hit. Both of them started to show desire in their eyes.
"My job. I can't resign for a few more months." Elsa, teased by Luke, blushed, breathed slightly, but still managed to express her demands with the little rationality she had left.
"No." Luke, no longer interested in eating, carried her to the couch in the living room.
"I need money."
"All my money is yours."
"I don't want it."
"Elsa, don't think that by not spending my money, you can cleanly leave me in the future. As long as I'm alive, you won't be able to walk away scot-free!"
Luke bit Elsa's collarbone, finally letting out the words he had been holding in all day.
Dizzy from Luke's affection, Elsa finally realized why she had been kicked out of the car. Luke thought she was pretending to be noble. She was leaving herself an escape route.
She was a bit at a loss for a moment.
"Do you love me, Luke?" she suddenly asked.
It made no sense to not let someone leave without love. Luke hesitated for a moment.
