Chapter 61 Not Getting Divorced?
She wasn't sure if it was an illusion, but after saying that, Elsa felt the temperature around her drop to freezing.
"I know I just said I didn't want anything and now I'm going back on my word, which is pretty shameless. But I'm also a victim here." Seeing Luke's displeased expression, Elsa quickly softened her tone.
"Tell me, what are your conditions?" Luke asked Elsa, trying to be patient.
'She should be grateful for her injured face. If it weren't for his softened heart, he would have already lost his temper,' Luke thought.
"I heard that David Miller is going to participate in a bidding soon. Can you help me make sure the Miller family fails? Of course, don't trouble yourself. If it's really inconvenient, I'll think of another way," Elsa replied.
The more Elsa spoke, the weaker her voice became, until it was barely audible.
"Elsa Miller, do you have a new target?" Luke stared intently into Elsa's watery eyes.
"Of course not, why would you ask that?"
"Then why aren't you fighting for me, just handing me over like that?"
"The opponent is too strong. The more I fight, the more I look like a joke." Elsa lowered her eyes and finally spoke her mind. "When you were with Karen Miller, I felt I still had a chance. But with Ms. Collins, I have no chance."
Luke didn't miss the sadness in Elsa's eyes.
He had seen this sad expression on Elsa's face a few times before.
When she woke up from nightmares in the middle of the night, when her depression relapsed, her eyes always carried a bit of sadness and fragility that was hard to describe.
But this time, Elsa's sadness, fragility, and lack of confidence were all because of him.
Luke's heart softened, but he tried to keep a straight face. He said, "What do you mean?"
"I read about your story online, and you two do seem well-matched." Elsa's voice was somewhat low, mixed with a bit of helplessness.
She continued, "No matter what, I can accept whatever choice you make. But if we do get divorced, can you help me with the Miller family matter?"
"That's all in the past." Luke sighed, unable to hold back the pain in his heart, and pulled Elsa onto his lap.
If Luke had known there would be a day when Elsa would be so suspicious, back then, he wouldn't have given Margaret any bracelet!
"I never thought about divorce. As for you, Elsa Miller, unless I die or don't want you anymore, you can never leave me."
His heart ached, but the words from his mouth were still harsh.
Luke's large hand encircled Elsa's waist, their noses touching.
The alcohol had slowed Elsa's reactions, and she let Luke kiss her lips a few times in a daze.
"Really not getting divorced?" Elsa asked somewhat blankly.
Luke quickly replied, "I mean it!"
Elsa's face visibly brightened.
Luke didn't miss the change in Elsa's expression, and the anger that had been simmering all night and day finally dissipated.
"What kind of alcohol did you drink?" He asked in a husky voice. Elsa's breath carried a hint of alcohol, and it had been teasing Luke's heart for quite some time now.
"Just some sake from the Japanese restaurant."
"Did you drink a lot?"
"Not really..."
Before Elsa could finish her sentence, Luke was already impatient to taste it.
Luke kissed Elsa's lips, his tongue exploring every corner of her mouth, teasing her tongue.
She was so dizzy from his kisses that she could only hold onto his neck to keep her balance.
"Breathe, baby," After a while, Luke reminded her with a low laugh.
Elsa's face was flushed red, leaning against Luke's chest, slightly out of breath.
Luke finally held Elsa and finished what he hadn't completed in the study the night before.
Luke was still thinking, 'I must give Elsa a better piece of jewelry to make this little jealous woman feel fully secure.'
