Chapter 463 Theron: Which One Do You Like?

"Don't think I don't know how much you've done for me." Elsa glanced at him.

Last week, Luke wasn't even in Maplewood City, yet he knew about everything that happened.

Whatever Elsa needed, Max simply carried out. Armed forces? Done. Supplies? Immediately arranged 50 million dollars worth of goods on the books.

What's more, her goal was just to make an example of someone, to put some pressure on Jace and Karen. But Luke thought, since we're already doing it, might as well go big and let the media blow this whole thing up.

He gave her complete trust, never asked her anything on his own initiative, never tried to tell her what to do, just quietly stood behind her, being the one who had her back, giving her whatever she needed.

It was precisely because she had someone like this behind her that Elsa felt so confident in everything she did.

She suddenly felt touched, her nose tingling.

"Supporting me this much, aren't you afraid I'll mess it up?" she asked, leaning against Luke.

After all, if this thing really went south, not only would the losses be huge, but it might even embolden Jace more, making things even more dangerous for her and Luke.

"Not afraid." Luke kissed the top of her head intermittently. "My woman, I know her."

Luke understood Elsa too well. Whatever she set out to do, she would succeed. If there were occasional setbacks, there would only be one reason—lack of experience. Once she gained enough experience and tried again, she would eventually succeed.

Her intelligence, vision, organizational skills, and ability to handle unexpected situations were all at the top tier of humanity.

And Elsa herself was one of the rare few in this society who could reach the summit. The lucky one who could lift her up and help her climb higher—if it wasn't him, Luke, it would be someone else.

"You're so good to me." Elsa sighed sincerely, turned around and wrapped her arms around Luke's neck, pecking his lips once.

Luke's eyes darkened. As she tried to pull away, he turned the tables, holding the back of her head.

"One more time, baby."

"No, I'm tired..." Elsa whined and tried to play dead, but her remaining words were blocked by Luke and swallowed back down.

...

That day, when Jonathan was invited by Theron to the study, it naturally wasn't just to look at his collection.

Theron's study was a suite. The outer room had a desk, bookshelves, and a daybed for resting. There was a hidden door in the bookshelf, and walking through it led to the treasure room.

Theron's treasure room was filled with all kinds of things, many of which had made social and financial news because of their jaw-dropping auction prices.

Jonathan could briefly explain the origin of each item and roughly state the closing auction price. Theron was immediately impressed.

"Jonathan is really no ordinary person. No wonder my two granddaughters are so taken with you."

Theron muttered to himself, then suddenly leaned closer and asked with a hint of mischief: "So, which one do you like?"

"Huh?" Jonathan was caught off guard for a second by Theron's directness.

"Don't play dumb when you know perfectly well. Of my two granddaughters, which one do you like?" Theron naturally wouldn't give him a chance to pretend, thinking he was going to play dumb.

Jonathan raised his eyebrows slightly: "I thought I'd been obvious enough."

He had no intention of hiding it, he just didn't know how Chloe's elder would view it. To say he wasn't nervous at all would be a lie. But since Theron asked so directly, if he was too evasive, it would seem like he dared to do it but didn't dare to admit it. So he might as well just acknowledge it.
