Chapter 365 Jasmine Catches an Affair
When Luke hugged Elsa, he slipped the car keys into her jacket pocket.
Elsa, usually so perceptive, didn't notice at all. It could only be said that her heart was too flustered by Luke, leaving her defenseless.
No matter how much she denied it, her body and mind couldn't lie.
"I don't want it," she instinctively refused over the phone.
"If you don't want it, throw it on the street. Plenty of people will take it," Luke snapped, getting angry again.
Elsa thought about it. She was going abroad next year and definitely wouldn't buy a car this year. The relationship between her and Luke was already a mess, so one more car wouldn't make a difference. At worst, she could return it to him when she left. So she compromised, "I'll drive it for now and return it when I go abroad."
"Suit yourself," Luke hung up.
In the end, the matter was resolved as Jonny suggested: Jonny's brother Wind got into a gang fight in prison, accidentally injuring someone. At a critical point for a sentence reduction, he was sued by another inmate, extending his sentence by a year.
This was devastating for Dylan, who soon ended up in the ICU.
There's no such thing as a secret that won't be revealed. The night Jonny was rushed to the hospital, the Clark family got the news.
Naturally, Terry and Jasmine's wedding was off.
They had an agreement when they got engaged, and under these circumstances, Aaron and Holly had to pay the Clark family a large sum in compensation.
Luke didn't care; the engagement was a mutual agreement. The penalty for pre-wedding faults was already stipulated. If they got married, his relationship with Terry would be even better. If not, it wouldn't affect their friendship. Whatever amount the Clark family was owed, they would pay.
But Jasmine absolutely couldn't stay in the country anymore.
Jasmine didn't want to leave, but Luke pressured her relentlessly, making her cry and complain all day.
In this situation, she came up with a "brilliant" idea: to catch Elsa and Terry in a compromising situation. If they were at fault too, she wouldn't be so passive.
She never reflected on herself, and this time was no exception.
Jasmine thought her current predicament wasn't her fault but because Elsa couldn't stand to see her happy and because the Clark family agreed to marry her but now wanted to call it off.
In a fit of anger, she sent someone to follow Elsa and Terry.
Elsa's routine was simple and boring, going back and forth between two places every day.
But Terry was much more interesting. The next day, Jasmine and her people cornered him at a hotel.
An informant said Terry went to the hotel with a woman. Jasmine waited in the lobby, and when Terry and Margaret came out together, she caught them red-handed.
By the time Luke found out, it was too late.
She stood in the hotel lobby, crying and making a scene, just short of buying a megaphone to tell the whole world.
"I've investigated. You two have been involved for over a year. Margaret, you shameless woman! I even considered you a friend!"
"Terry, what right do you have to call off the wedding? You're the one who messed around first!"
When Luke arrived, Jasmine was tearfully accusing them, while Terry and Margaret stood there with ashen faces, saying nothing.
"Luke, Terry and Margaret have been together since last year! Look!" Seeing Luke enter, Jasmine hurriedly ran over with a few sheets of paper to complain, looking even more aggrieved.
