Chapter 31 Shameless Like Me
"If you could be as shameless as me, Luke would sleep with you too."
Elsa chuckled self-deprecatingly. She was just being honest. After all, she felt extremely shameless every time when she tricked Luke into sleeping with her. What she lacked in charm, she made up for in confidence.
Karida was piqued by this answer.
In just a few short exchanges, she suddenly understood the charm that Elsa had.
"There are plenty of beautiful women, and powerful men like Luke would never lack female companionship,” she muttered to herself. “The difference between Elsa and other beautiful women is that she never expected Luke to fall in love with her.
"She sold alcohol without feeling inferior. And she entangled herself with Luke without any hesitation."
Elsa was just using her charm to achieve her goals, devoid of any emotion.
"How lucky of Luke to encounter such a good-natured woman for the first time." Karida's smile deepened.
"The first time?" Elsa said, a curious expression breaking her calm facade.
"Yes, how did it feel for Maplewood City's richest man to make love with you for the first time?" Karida leaned in suddenly and asked Elsa.
Elsa instinctively moved back. "Not bad?"
She sensed that Luke might not have had much experience in his personal life, but she never expected him to be a virgin. Luke's first time was with a woman who sold alcohol. No wonder he seemed to want to kill her every time he saw her in the beginning.
Karida didn't miss the change in her emotions, and she couldn't help but laugh.
"May I know why you helped me?" Elsa finally asked when Karida finally stopped laughing.
"It happened in my hospital. Naturally, I had to handle it. Don't think too much about it," Karida said, waving her hand. "Just go home and wait."
Even as she left the office, Elsa doubted Karida's words. Could it be that Luke was behind it all? But she hadn't told him anything.
It was impossible, he had no reason to help her.
Later, on the 16th floor of the Taylor Building, Karida slapped Elsa's bank card on Luke's desk, with a mischievous smile.
"Elsa asked me to give this $40,000 to the family," she said.
Of course, this problem couldn't be solved with just $40,000.
To resolve the issue, Luke transferred $400,000 to Karida. Karida used this money to threaten and appease the family for the entire morning before they finally agreed.
"What else did she say?" Luke asked.
"She said if I were as shameless as her, I could also sleep with you," Karida replied.
"Get lost!"
Karida's answer clearly annoyed Luke, so Karida left, bursting out laughter.
That night, Elsa was waiting at Luke's door again.
Modern communication tools seemed to have no effect for the two of them; to meet, they had to wait at the door.
She no longer had the fragile and sad look from yesterday. In the ambiguous light of the lawn lamps, she smiled charmingly and alluringly.
She stood in front of Luke's car and said cautiously, "Can I take back what I said yesterday?"
"What did you say?" he asked.
"That you shouldn't marry Karen, although you wouldn't marry me now either. Still, we seem to be quite compatible when it comes to making love," Elsa explained with a smile on her face.
Since she didn't have to leave, she naturally had to continue to cause trouble for the Miller family.
This time it was Max who brought Luke back, and he was shocked to see Elsa in the passenger seat, wondering if his assistant could hear such words.
