Chapter 95 Darling, You're Amazing

Emily had gotten out of prison early thanks to Karen pulling some strings to reduce her sentence multiple times. Emily had always blamed Elsa for her imprisonment. Now that she was free, the first thing she did was go after Elsa for revenge.

How did Emily find Elsa so easily? She had Margaret to thank for that.

"What's up with you, Ms. Miller?" Margaret sneered in the office, eyeing Elsa's bruised face. "Did karma finally catch up with you?"

"Got nothing better to do, Manager Collins?" Elsa shot back, not in the mood for Margaret's sarcasm.

"I'm here to let you know that Dalton Banks is hiring five new intern designers, including you. At the end of the month, there'll be a design competition. The winner gets a full-time job; the rest are out," Margaret said.

"Got it," came Elsa's curt reply.

"Elsa, Dalton Banks values talent. Sleeping with Mr. Taylor won't save you," Margaret said with a sneer, clearly bitter.

"Jealous you can't get into Mr. Taylor's bed? No need to be," Elsa replied calmly.

Winning the last design competition proved Elsa's skills. If it weren't for Karen's lies, she'd already be working at Dalton Banks. Arguing with Margaret was pointless; those who slandered you knew exactly how wrong they were.

"Keep talking. Let's see how long you can stay smug!" Margaret snapped before storming off.

Elsa went to the bathroom to check her face. Her forehead was swollen, and the skin around her eyes and nose was scraped.

'Emily's early release must be Karen's doing. This is just the start. Who knows what else he'll try. I have to stay alert,' Elsa thought.

Luke was out all day, visiting projects and inspecting subsidiaries, busy until after 9 PM.

When he got back and saw Elsa's bruised forehead, he frowned deeply.

"What happened?" he asked, concerned.

"Emily White got out of prison. Karen must've told her something, and now she blames me for her arrest."

Emily was thrown into prison by Terry on a flimsy charge, but she didn't dare mess with the Clark family, so she targeted Elsa instead.

Luke's face darkened, but he said nothing.

After Elsa fell asleep, Luke called Max, "In three days, I want Emily White's arm."

Max, exhausted from a long day, was jolted awake by Luke's icy tone.

There was only one reason for Luke to be this angry late at night: Emily had messed with Elsa.

"Yes, Mr. Taylor," Max replied as calmly as he could.

Within three days, news broke that Emily had gotten into a fight at a nightclub and had her arm dislocated, making the local headlines.

Elsa saw the news and forwarded it to Luke.

Elsa: [Did you do this?]

The reply came: [Yes].

Luke hadn't said anything when he saw Elsa injured, but he had quietly taken care of it behind the scenes. Elsa felt a surge of warmth in her heart.

"You're amazing, darling. You're so good to me. I love you so much," Elsa quickly called to shower him with praise.

"Wait for me to get off work together tonight," Luke said, trying to sound normal but unable to hide the smile in his voice.

"Okay!" Elsa agreed eagerly.

That evening, Luke had some work to finish, which delayed him a bit. When he went to the 15th floor, only Elsa was left in the entire department.

Elsa was engrossed in her drawing under the lamp, completely unaware of Luke's approach.

Her back was slender, her waist so narrow it could be encircled with one hand. Her golden hair was messily pinned up with a pen, exposing her fair neck.

Luke felt a stir in his heart and reached out to embrace Elsa from behind.
