Chapter 385 Mother's Background
The King Villa was spacious, with the kitchen far from the living room. The staff at the King Villa were well-trained, always available when needed and never in the way when not.
Even so, Chloe, perched on the kitchen counter in Jonathan's arms, held her breath, biting her lip nervously, afraid to make a sound.
She was naturally conservative and reserved, and doing something like this outside the bedroom was already too thrilling for her.
"Don't," Chloe whispered, worried someone outside might hear.
"Don't? You don't want me?" Jonathan leaned in, his eyes boring into hers, leaving her nowhere to hide.
"I do," Chloe admitted, surrendering.
"Good girl," Jonathan murmured, moving closer, parting her legs, and silencing her plea with a kiss.
They had kissed many times before, but never like this. This was their first deep, passionate kiss.
Jonathan's tongue pushed into her mouth, exploring and teasing her, leaving her nowhere to retreat.
Being kissed was one thing, but kissing back was another.
Chloe remembered hearing that men rarely refused women who came onto them, but only kissed those they truly liked. She couldn't verify this, but she knew she was completely captivated by his kiss.
When Jonathan's tongue entered her mouth, Chloe's mind went blank until he sucked on her tongue, bringing her back to reality.
The kiss left her heart racing, and she forgot to breathe several times.
Jonathan was delighted by her innocent response, his heart melting. He was almost certain she had never done this with Oliver. He was sure he was Chloe's first in this way, her guide and initiator.
Her current state was all because of him.
"Baby, give it to me," he whispered in her ear, coaxing her to the peak of emotion.
In the living room, Lara was still asking Elsa about her mother. She seemed very interested in this woman who looked almost identical to her younger self.
Eventually, she even got up to take a photo of herself holding Jonathan from the photo wall and compared it with the pictures on Elsa's phone, asking Elsa to show more.
Lara held Elsa's phone, unable to get enough, but her expression grew increasingly serious.
"To be honest, Mr. King mentioned I looked a lot like you. When I saw your younger photos, I realized my mother looked almost exactly like you. I even asked Mr. King if he had any siblings. He said he only had a half-brother," Elsa recalled, smiling at the memory of her shock when she first saw the photo.
She had even gone to Chloe's house to get old photos of Leslie for comparison.
"Later, I thought maybe beautiful women just have similarities and let it go."
"Does your mother have any family? Where are your grandparents from?" Lara asked softly, not responding to Elsa's comment.
Elsa shook her head.
"My mother's background is a mystery. She never talked about it. When I was little, other kids would visit their grandparents on weekends, but I had nowhere to go. I asked my mother about my grandparents, but she seemed reluctant to talk. As I grew older, I realized it was a painful subject for her, so I stopped asking."
Elsa had always suspected that Leslie's estrangement from her family was caused by her marrying David, which went against her grandparents' wishes, leading to a break in relations. But this was her guess, never confirmed.
