Chapter 285 Luke Felt Pain
Elsa had just left the private room when Leo followed her out. The reason he didn't go over immediately was because he saw Luke.
They all left and didn't return, making it obvious what had happened.
He chased after them and heard faint sounds coming from the bathroom stall.
He had an indescribable feeling, like his chest was stuffed with cotton, making it hard to breathe.
Elsa was just his assistant, and taking a 10-minute break during work hours shouldn't be a reason for him to be angry.
The real reason was that she was with Luke!
He was fed up with constantly being compared to Luke, who was his lifelong rival.
He initially didn't want Elsa as his assistant, because he didn't want a woman whom Luke didn't want.
But ever since he saw Luke and Elsa interacting at the café, he knew that their relationship was definitely not as the rumors suggested—that Elsa had failed to climb up to Luke and was abandoned by him.
From the way Luke looked at her, he knew she had a special meaning for Luke.
And it was precisely because of this that he changed his mind and hired her.
Any other woman with a bit of sense would have known he was flirting with her this morning, but Elsa didn't seem to notice at all.
He thought it was because she was so pure and conservative, but by evening she even had sex with Luke in the hotel restroom!
In the darkness, he couldn't see her face clearly, but Elsa's voice suddenly tightened. "You can reconsider whether you still want to employ me. If you decide to fire me, remember to give me three months' severance pay. And don't forget today's fifty thousand dollars."
After saying this, Elsa turned and waved her hand, stumbling into the apartment.
Her back looked so frail that Leo even saw her thin shoulders shake a bit.
Was she crying? His heart felt a bit heavy; his words earlier had indeed been too harsh.
In the past year and more that Elsa had been avenging Leslie, she had heard all kinds of nasty things. Leo was the first one who called her cheap and slutty.
She felt a bit uncomfortable, but not to the point of being heartbroken over it.
To Elsa, Leo was just an ATM that spat out a hundred thousand dollars every month. Who would get angry at an ATM?
What she didn't know was that besides Leo, Max had also followed her in his car, watching her until she got downstairs.
"Leo dropped Ms. Miller off downstairs and said some very harsh things," Max reported to Luke, who was the accomplice in the bathroom.
Luke's eyes flickered. Not only did Leo see him, but he also saw Leo when he was leaving. Bullying Elsa was partly because he missed her after not seeing her for a few days and partly to assert his dominance.
"What did she say?" Luke asked.
Max repeated Elsa's words.
Leo making Elsa drink for him and only giving her ten thousand dollars per drink was nothing impressive.
In the end, Elsa was in such a hurry to make money because he had forced her into it.
Luke felt a mix of pain and numbness in his heart. He touched the scratch on his chin, his mind filled with the image of Elsa leaning over the sink, her eyes hazy.
Fortunately, the next day was Saturday, and Elsa slept until noon before slowly getting up to wash.
It was quite embarrassing to have been overheard by Leo last night, but luckily she didn't have to face him on the weekend, giving him time to decide if he would continue to employ her. Elsa thought regretfully as she brushed her teeth.
She opened her phone and saw a message from Jonny, sent early in the morning: [I moved. Come over for dinner at my new place tonight to warm the house.]
