Chapter 24 Jonny, the Hero

When Luke learned about this, the champion had already been shifted to the original second place and the organizers invited him to the award ceremony. Although he was feeling slightly surprised when he didn't see Elsa on the podium, he still calmly presented the trophy and check, designed like an advertisement, to the new champion.

After the ceremony, he casually asked, "Wasn't Elsa the champion? Why had it changed?" That was when he got some information from the organizers. Since he didn't have Facebook, he specifically downloaded the app to search for this event and unraveled the whole incident in less than ten minutes.

"This is the consequence she should bear!" Looking at the angry comments on Facebook, he felt that Elsa deserved this treatment. He was angered by her actions towards Karen. ‘Was she utilized him just to make Karen angry? Was he just a tool in her eyes? Karen felt wronged, so retaliating against Elsa on Facebook was normal.’ He pondered.
However, this incident indirectly confirmed that the two were not as unfamiliar with each other as they claimed. It seemed that Elsa and Karen had long-standing grievances.

Suddenly remembering Elsa's words on that drunken day, he told Max, "Investigate David thoroughly, be meticulous." He usually wasn't interested in other people's affairs, but when it came to Elsa, it was different. He wanted to see what this woman was up to.

"Speaking of which, Elsa's entry is still in the safe over here. How should we handle it?" The head of the organizing team looked somewhat troubled.
The gemstones used in their studio were not cheap, and if Elsa wanted them back, she would have to pay. Even though she had explicitly stated she didn't want them anymore. But on one hand, there were copyright issues, and on the other hand, after the negative news came out, Dalton couldn't sell them anymore.

"It's a shame for such a good design," the head muttered, unaware that Luke was the man behind this incident.
"Leave it to me," Luke said.

The couple's necklace designed by Elsa eventually ended up in Luke's hands. That day, he was biased and didn't appreciate it properly. Now holding it, it was indeed more exquisite and beautiful than the other entries. Elsa's talent was truly outstanding.

"What's the use of talent if a person is bad? Her harsh personality will be her downfall sooner or later." He muttered. Luke thought of Elsa with irritation,’ couldn't she be more honest?’ However, shortly after the designer competition ended, a different voice emerged online.

Jonny, who claimed that everything online was being maliciously framed, went to great lengths to prove his credibility. He even pulled up numerous reports and interviews about Elsa from Maplewood City's media three years ago, along with proof of Elsa's suspension from a prestigious foreign university and a photo of the two with the same mentor.

"The Elsa I know is a girl of excellent character and academics. I vouch for her that she is definitely not a woman who would’ve had an affair."
"Elsa's mother passed away earlier this year, and she had to drop out of school to take care of her younger brother, who has congenital heart disease. Working at the club was just for the higher income from alcohol sales compared to regular jobs. Elsa's brother urgently needs a heart transplant, and she needs money."
"Moreover, with the current AI face-swapping technology, it's almost indistinguishable from reality."

To support his claims, he even created numerous AI face-swapping images using a screenshot of Elsa's video, comparing them.
In the end, he tagged the person spreading the rumors: "It's normal for a person to get emotional when someone destroys a marriage. But in your Facebook Messenger screenshots, you didn't reply with a single word to the person who sent the images, which is unreasonable. And if what you said is true, why not reveal your identity? In a love triangle, a scoundrel is more despicable than the third party. If you don't come forward to explain within three days, I will sue you for defaming others on Elsa's behalf."

Karen, of course, didn't dare to come forward. If she dared to provide evidence publicly, then everyone would know that Luke was the "scoundrel," and she would have no chance to redeem herself.
This incident miraculously took a turn.

"Why did you vouch for me with your reputation? This was clearly something I did," Elsa said with a bitter smile. She actually owed Jonny. "Elsa, I know your character; you must have your reasons. Besides, is my reputation really precious? But honestly, don't you think the clarification I wrote is quite skillful?" Jonny proudly said, successfully making Elsa smile.
