Chapter 314 Margaret Joins

Stardream Resort is a famous resort in Maplewood City and one of the top wellness destinations in the country. George came here with the intention of checking it out, and if he liked it, he might consider retiring here.

During their two-day trip, they first went to the hotel at Stardream Resort to check-in.

In the lobby, a gentle and surprised female voice rang out, "Luke, what are you doing here!"

Elsa had just received her room key from the front desk and didn't need to look up to know it was Margaret.

She bypassed the two of them, carrying her suitcase straight to her room. When she came back out, their group of four had become five.

Margaret was calling George "Grandpa" repeatedly, offering him shade and water, and being extremely attentive.

"Elsa, Ms. Collins came here by herself. It's no fun to be alone. Do you mind if she joins us?" George asked Elsa with a smile, a sly glint in his eye.

He immediately understood what was going on.

Margaret was clearly here to corner Luke. He didn't believe for a second that she had come to the resort alone.

George intended to help Luke and Elsa reconcile. Now that Margaret was here, he wanted to see what Luke and Elsa really felt.

"Of course, I don't mind. I'll go along with your arrangements," Elsa said, giving Margaret a sidelong glance with a half-smile. "Ms. Collins, coming to the resort alone to relax, you must be in a great mood."

"Now that I've run into Luke and George, I'm not alone anymore," Margaret replied smoothly.

Elsa didn't believe for a second that Margaret's encounter was accidental.

Luke watched them coldly, saying nothing, as a subtle tension flowed between the three of them.

Karida was already starting to feel embarrassed for Luke.

Putting Margaret and Elsa together, he couldn't believe George had such a mischievous streak!

The resort was primarily for relaxation, with beautiful scenery, hot springs, a hotel, and some unique performances. George, being older, experienced time differently than the younger folks. To accommodate him, they deliberately slowed their pace, accompanying him as he leisurely explored the resort.

Soon it was lunchtime, and they went to the resort's specialty restaurant.

Karida had made a reservation in advance, so the food was already on the table when they arrived.

They sat at a round table, with Luke and Margaret predictably sitting next to each other, while Elsa unobtrusively sat between George and Karida.

She was usually quiet, and with Margaret talking, she made an effort to lower her presence even more, focusing on her meal.

"George, would you like some chicken soup? I'll get you some," Margaret said, picking up the bowl in front of George to serve him.

"Thank you, Margaret. You're so thoughtful. Any man who marries you will be very lucky," George said calmly, letting Margaret serve him as he smiled and praised her. After speaking, he gave Elsa a sly glance.

Elsa acted as if she didn't see it, continuing to eat her porridge without any change in expression.

"Luke, try this. It's really special," Margaret said, placing a dish in front of Luke.

Luke glanced at Elsa, who seemed unaffected, and ate it indifferently, saying, "It is special."

Encouraged by his words, Margaret soon poured him a cup of coffee.

"It's good."

"And this," she said, offering grilled fish.

"Try this too."

Luke accepted everything Margaret recommended.

"Margaret is really considerate," he said with a smile.

Margaret blushed and looked at Elsa with a hint of triumph in her eyes.

Elsa finished her meal and put down her spoon. "Ms. Collins, do you usually like doing charity work?"

Margaret didn't know why Elsa was asking this but instinctively maintained her kind image in front of Luke. "Of course."

"The nursing home downstairs from where I live is looking for volunteers to care for paralyzed elderly people. With Ms. Collins' level of thoughtfulness, you'd be perfect for the job."

Karida inhaled a mouthful of soup into her windpipe and started coughing violently.
