Chapter 324 He Just Wants to Kiss Her
The banquet hall was crowded, and the air pressure was a bit low. Elsa felt even more suffocated after drinking.
She exited through the back door and took a flight of stairs to the rooftop to get some fresh air.
At first, she didn't notice the footsteps behind her until they became increasingly clear.
She turned around on the rooftop and saw a young man who looked somewhat familiar.
"Ms. Miller, I'm the Vice President of Radiant Gems Company. My name is Noah Morales." Behind Noah's glasses were eyes full of interest in her.
That look instinctively repulsed Elsa.
"Do you need something?" she asked.
"Our booth is next to your company's. We met during the day."
"Ms. Miller, I've been paying attention to you since you made headlines last year. Will you be my girlfriend? I promise to treat you well. And I don't mind your past!" Noah took an excited step forward, approaching Elsa.
He didn't mind her past?
That statement infuriated Elsa!
Who did he think he was to mind her past?
Elsa crossed her arms and sneered, "What's wrong with my past? Please enlighten me."
Noah realized he had misspoken and felt a bit awkward.
"Go on."
"Weren't you the mistress who married Luke, had a miscarriage, and even seduced Leo?"
His voice grew weaker and weaker.
Luke, not far away, listened to their conversation, feeling a tightness in his chest.
"My past is so disgraceful, yet you still pursue me. You must be a really good person." Elsa was indeed angry, as Luke could hear a hint of amusement in her tone.
"No, I genuinely like you." Noah was so flustered that he stuttered.
"You know I married Luke, right? What's your name again?"
"Noah."
"Noah, who gave you the confidence to think that a woman who has been with Luke is someone you can pursue?"
"You!" Noah was left red-faced by Elsa's retort.
"Elsa, you've already divorced Luke. Second-hand goods aren't worth much!" In his anger and shame, he lost the composure of an elite and started speaking recklessly.
"Whether I'm worth anything or not, what does it have to do with you? Is it your place to ask?"
Elsa, though slim, was not weak. She was beautiful, cold, and intelligent, with a defiant look on her face. Her face was not clear in the night, but her words were powerful.
She didn't like to talk much, but when truly angered, her words could be extremely sharp. Luke felt a sense of satisfaction from her words.
"Elsa, don't go too far!" Noah, unable to out-argue Elsa, became furious and raised his hand.
Elsa was about to suffer.
"You've worked hard to climb up from the bottom, so it's best to be cautious. Don't touch what isn't yours, and don't covet people who aren't yours."
Luke's voice, carrying the pressure of someone in power, came from not far away.
"Noah, have you ever thought that after all these years of hard work, you could be brought back to square one overnight?"
Not just back to square one; Luke could destroy him with just a flick of his finger.
Noah knew this, of course.
The alcohol he drank at the banquet turned into cold sweat at this moment.
"Mr. Taylor."
His legs were trembling.
"Get lost." Luke said contemptuously.
Noah really did run away, trembling and without looking back.
Elsa looked up at him, "You heard everything?"
Her voice carried a chill in the early autumn wind.
Luke, feeling bewitched, approached and trapped her in his arms.
Surprisingly, Elsa didn't dodge.
"I've done so many big things, but in the end, I'm just a woman nobody wants." She mocked herself in his arms.
"Why do you get so angry? It's really hard to appease you. Do you really take to heart what someone like that says?" Luke lifted her face, his tone full of affection.
The rooftop light was a warm yellow, and her face under the light had a fine glow, her eyes sparkling like crushed stars.
He wanted to kiss her.
His body also missed her immensely.
Elsa remained silent. After a long while, she suddenly asked, "Did you get involved in David's smuggling case?"
"Yes."
"Did you spend a lot of money?"
The Miller family was her untouchable wound, so when he was settling accounts with her, he didn't include it, nor did he think of using it to gain credit.
"That's not important." Luke's voice was hoarse, overwhelmed with desire, just wanting to bully her.
"Thank you."
"Then thank me with your actions." He no longer had the patience for back-and-forth with her.
Hearing footsteps approaching the rooftop, Luke's eyes darkened, and he pulled Elsa behind a signal tower on the rooftop.
"Elsa, are you there?" It was Leo's voice.
Elsa wanted to speak, but as soon as she opened her lips, Luke seized her breath.
His kiss came urgently, chasing her tongue playfully, and when she tried to evade, he sucked hard.
She instantly went weak.
