Chapter 183 It's Not Just You Who Likes It, I Like It Too

In the ward, Luke was giving Vincent some water, and they were surprisingly hitting it off.

Elsa's eyes welled up.

Vincent had always been coddled by Elsa and her mom, so he never really faced the world's harshness. Luke said Vincent fainted because he refused to eat, which floored her.

"If you skip meals again, don't blame me for spanking you," she said, her eyes getting red.

"Elsa, I hate David," Vincent said.

"Luke saved me. He's awesome." Despite everything, he flashed Elsa a bright smile. "I like Luke."

Vincent knew Luke funded his heart transplant and stay at the nursing home. Plus, Luke was really good to his sister.

Luke helped Vincent put on his coat and said, "Let's get you checked again. If everything's cool, we'll head home."

"Not only do you like him, I like him too," Elsa suddenly said.

Luke felt a surge of happiness and accidentally buttoned Vincent's coat wrong.

"Alright, buddy! Make sure you get a proper check-up. If everything's fine, I will just take you home," Luke said, patting Vincent's head. He didn't have much experience with kids but knew he should be good to Vincent.

"Vincent, come with me," Karida said, quickly taking Vincent for a check-up.

"Thanks, honey," Elsa said, her eyes still wet with unshed tears.

Luke gently wiped the corner of her eye with his fingertip. "Feeling better now?" he asked, his tone gentle.

"Yeah." It was a bit chilly, and Elsa, dressed lightly, sniffled.

Luke unbuttoned his coat and pulled Elsa into his arms.

Elsa leaned her head against his neck, inhaling the faint scent of orange blossoms on him.

At the busy hospital entrance, they caught people's attention.

Margaret, accompanying Joe for chemotherapy, saw Luke and Elsa and felt a surge of bitterness.

"You can't force what doesn't belong to you," Joe sighed, also seeing them.

Margaret spoke with a hint of bitterness. "Dad, I've always gotten what I wanted since I was a kid. Why is Luke the exception?"

Margaret had married Brandon abroad because the Collins family's business was expanding internationally, and an alliance with Brandon seemed the best option. She also thought Brandon had more potential than Luke.

Unexpectedly, Brandon's bankruptcy came much faster than the Collins family's growth, and Margaret tried everything to divorce and return home to win back Luke.

By then, Luke was already engaged to Karen, but Margaret didn't see Karen as a threat.

Who knew Elsa would swoop in and take Luke, leaving her humiliated!

"Just give those blind dates a shot. The guys I've lined up for you are solid. Margaret, before I take off, I just want to see you with someone who really cares about you," Joe said, feeling sympathy for his daughter.

Joe's illness was in its final stages, and he couldn't afford to let her be stubborn.

"Did you hear what I said?" Joe asked, seeing his daughter distractedly staring at Luke and Elsa, his tone becoming stern.

"I know, Dad. I'll listen to you." Margaret finally relented.
