Chapter 211 If Jonny and I Get a Room, Can You Accept It
"You're awake!" Luke rushed over, worried about how Elsa was feeling.
Elsa gave Luke a cold look and then turned away, her distant and disappointing gaze making Luke's heart ache.
"It's not what you think!" Luke's voice rose a bit.
"Keep your voice down. Elsa has a neck injury and needs to rest," Karida quickly reminded him.
"Yeah, Elsa said she's planning to divorce you. If you have anything to discuss, talk to her lawyer! Go be with your Margaret!" Chloe snapped angrily.
"Ms. Clark, this is a private matter between Elsa and me. Please stay out of it." Luke's expression turned stern, showing his authoritative stance.
"If I don't step in, should I just let you bully her?" Chloe shot back, not backing down.
"Ms. Clark, because you are Elsa's friend, I have tolerated you repeatedly," Luke almost lost his patience.
"We should go and let them handle this themselves," Terry, sensing the tension, quickly coaxed Chloe out of the room.
"Talk it out, but be careful. Elsa can't get too agitated," Karida added, thoughtfully closing the door behind Elsa and Luke.
The room fell silent.
Seeing Elsa's resistant demeanor, Luke felt heartbroken. He wanted to hold her but was afraid of hurting her, so he could only stand by the bed and watch her.
Elsa, with her back to Luke, spoke hoarsely, "I think I need to reconsider our relationship."
Luke's heart tightened, and he clenched his jaw.
Afraid of hurting Elsa, he didn't dare to turn her head, so he positioned himself in front of her.
"I swear on my life, I did not sleep with Margaret," Luke said seriously, squatting by Elsa's bed and looking into her eyes.
"Fine, I believe you. Margaret was just in heat by herself," Elsa sneered, her eyes full of mockery.
Luke was uncomfortable by her expression.
He took out his phone and dialed Margaret's number.
"Luke!" The delighted voice came from the other end.
"Tell Elsa, did I have sex with you yesterday?" Luke's voice was devoid of its usual politeness, only cold indifference remained.
Margaret was silent for a moment.
"Margaret, I need you to tell the truth," Luke said.
Margaret hung up the phone.
Elsa smirked at Luke with distrust and derision.
"I'll let you check. If I slept with Margaret, there would definitely be marks on my body," Luke said coldly, pulling open his shirt.
He took Elsa's hand and placed it on his body.
Elsa recoiled as if burned.
She pulled the blanket over her eyes.
Seeing her expression soften, Luke sat by the bed, leaned closer, and gently pulled the blanket down.
"Listen to me," Luke, wary of touching her wounds, encircled her with great care.
"I drank too much yesterday. By the time you knocked, I was already passed out. Whatever Margaret said or did was just a show for you. Nothing happened between Margaret and me."
Elsa, who had been furious yesterday, now thought that Luke might not be lying after she woke up from the car accident.
According to Karida, Luke had drunk so much that even if he hadn't passed out, he might not have been able to perform.
So, it was indeed possible that this was Margaret's trap.
But thinking about Margaret's moaning yesterday made Elsa feel physically ill.
"Luke, you say you didn't have sex with her. Were you just chatting under the covers?" Elsa retorted.
"How can I admit to something I didn't do?" Luke's original intention of being with Margaret was to make Elsa jealous and care more about him, but he felt too embarrassed to utter such words.
He couldn't stand seeing Elsa like this; it pained him.
Elsa laughed. "If I went to a hotel with Jonny, would you accept my explanation like this? If your answer is yes, then this matter is over."
