Chapter 382 Visiting (Part One)

Even though they had figured out who Lara was, Elsa and Chloe decided to keep quiet about it. When Lara invited them over, they just thought she was being polite and didn't give it much thought.

Who would've guessed that early Saturday morning, Lara would text them her address.

[My son's home today, and he can cook for you,] she said.

Chloe sent a screenshot to Elsa.

"What should we do?" She sounded nervous.

"What's the big deal? You know Jonathan, so why are you freaking out about going to his place?" Elsa was calm.

"Do you think Mr. King will think I'm trying too hard to get close to him?"

Elsa sighed, "Aren't you overthinking this?"

Chloe, a beautiful young woman in her early twenties from a well-off family, was stressing over a man twenty years older. Sure, Jonathan was impressive and handsome, but Chloe was a good match for him. Elsa thought it was unfair for Chloe, but once Chloe made up her mind, Elsa never opposed her again.

She was Chloe's best friend, and if she didn't support her, Chloe's path would only be harder.

Elsa drove to pick up Chloe, and they headed to the King residence together.

No need for GPS; Elsa had driven this route hundreds of times.

As they reached the foot of the hill, Elsa's heart started to race. Passing by Luke's villa, she found it hard not to glance to the right.

Luke didn't have weekends off, so he probably wasn't home at this time.

His Cullinan was parked in the yard, so maybe he was using another car.

Chloe noticed Elsa's unease.

"You were teasing me, but now that it's your turn, you can't let go either."

"Just taking a look. After all, I lived here for a year," Elsa retorted stubbornly.

She slowed down, driving past Luke's gate. Just then, Luke stepped out of the house.

He was wearing a dark brown long coat, looking exceptionally tall and imposing. He was holding a black bag, seemingly about to leave.

Elsa panicked and stepped on the gas.

Luke noticed Elsa's car as soon as he stepped out. Seeing her suddenly speed up, he frowned.

Was Elsa heading to the King Villa? Was she avoiding him?

Elsa and Chloe parked in the King Villa's parking area, and a butler immediately came to open the car door. The servants lined up to welcome them.

"Even a mother-in-law wouldn't get this kind of treatment," Elsa whispered to Chloe, who blushed instantly.

They brought some expensive pastries and fruits for Lara and politely presented them as soon as they entered.

Lara was dressed in a silk loungewear set, her white hair casually tied at the back. If not for the wrinkles and signs of age, she could have passed for a young person with dyed white hair.

"You're here, perfect timing. Jonathan is home. Go ahead and call him down," Lara said, having coffee prepared for them before going to get Jonathan. Soon, footsteps were heard on the stairs as Jonathan came down.

The two looked up to greet him, and Jonathan paused, then smiled, "Mother said she met two angelic girls. I should have guessed it was you two. There are no other angels in Maplewood City."

Elsa nearly choked on her coffee.

Lara looked youthful and spirited, but her choice of words was quite old-fashioned.

"You're too kind," Elsa quickly responded modestly.

Chloe, on the other hand, blushed and remained silent since seeing Jonathan.

Lara was sharp. Seeing Elsa and Chloe's expressions, she understood immediately.

"So, you know each other?"
