Chapter 419 I'm Here to Pick Up Elsa
Chloe was on a mission to find a guy to spend the night with.
If her virginity were a bottle of wine, then Jonathan had uncorked it and taken the first sip. The second guy, as long as he was a nobody, would make Jonathan seem less significant.
That was her logic, which Elsa didn't agree with but didn't interfere with either.
Elsa's love for Chloe was so biased that if she ever found out Chloe had committed murder, she would take the blame for her. As long as Chloe was safe, Elsa wouldn't interfere with her decision to find a man for the night.
But Chloe, like Elsa, was conservative at heart.
The guy was handsome, though his demeanor couldn't compare to Jonathan's. In terms of looks, he was just as good, speaking softly and humbly, knowing how to charm women.
"Which one?" Elsa asked with her eyes.
Chloe glanced at the guy closest to her and downed several gulps of vodka.
She felt she needed to get drunk on strong liquor to take this step.
"Do you want him?" She asked Elsa with her eyes.
Before Elsa could respond, a familiar male voice, tinged with anger, interrupted.
"Excuse me, I'm taking Elsa with me."
Luke had assigned someone to secretly protect Elsa, so he was immediately informed of her whereabouts.
He had an important international video conference that night. When he heard Elsa was with Chloe, he didn't think much of it until he saw the photos sent by the bodyguard during a break.
A nightclub?
Since when did Elsa get so bold?
Luke was initially calm until he heard Elsa and Chloe had ordered twenty-something men. Then he couldn't sit still.
"You handle the rest of the meeting."
He abruptly handed his work to Max and rushed to the scene to get Elsa.
Luke had been watching from a distance for a while.
Thankfully, Elsa hadn't done anything outrageous, but she was surrounded by a bunch of slick-looking men, calmly drinking!
She was really something—two women ordering twenty-something men to accompany them. What were they thinking?!
It's a good thing he came. Who knew what might have happened if he hadn't!
"What are you doing here?"
Seeing Luke, Elsa felt a bit guilty.
Luke crossed his arms and looked at her coldly. "Leaving?"
We would settle this when we got home!
Elsa looked at Chloe, conflicted. Chloe waved her off. "Go ahead, we should be leaving soon anyway."
"Will you be okay alone?" Elsa asked softly.
"Of course. Go on, if you don't leave now, I'm afraid your husband will burn this place down." Chloe whispered back.
True, Luke was definitely capable of that.
So Elsa wisely stood up, went over to Luke, and hugged his arm, giving it a little shake. "Luke, I was just about to call you. It's so sweet of you to come get me."
"Stop acting cute."
Luke's expression didn't soften.
Seeing that he wasn't swayed, Elsa obediently closed her mouth and followed him out the door.
The tension in the car was palpable, and Elsa sat uneasily in the passenger seat.
She glanced at Luke's grim face, wanting to speak but hesitating several times.
Luke drove quickly, his face cold, all the way home. He parked the car, walked around to the passenger side, and yanked the door open.
For a moment, Elsa thought Luke was going to hit her and shut her eyes tightly.
But instead, Luke pulled her into his arms and carried her inside.
"I can walk myself," Elsa protested softly.
"Shut up." Luke carried her upstairs, into the bedroom, and tossed her onto the bed.
