Chapter 58 Call Her Mrs. Taylor

Margaret saw that Luke was taking the initiative to be friendly. Her eyes showed a hint of pride as she smiled.

She thought of something, glanced at Elsa and quickly said, "Luke and I grew up together and we're used to being this way with each other. You won't mind, right, Miss Miller?"

"I don't mind." Elsa didn't even look up, focusing on eating the bird's nest soup in her bowl.

Margaret's words were provocative, and she pretended not to hear.

Since Elsa had slept poorly and felt unwell, she couldn't eat much before starting to feel uncomfortable.

"If you can't eat, don't force yourself." Luke finally couldn't help but speak up when he saw her discomfort. His intention was to show concern, but his tone made it sound like he found Elsa annoying.

"Take your time then." Although Elsa was feeling uncomfortable inside, she forced a smile on her face, quickly put down her bowl, picked up her coffee cup, and headed upstairs.

'What did that ugly smile mean? She looks worse than if she cried. If she's jealous, she should just say it. Where's her usual domineering attitude?' Luke thought.

"Go upstairs and make some soup that's easy on the stomach later." Luke instructed Lisa, his heart aching with anger as he watched Elsa rush off.

Lisa acknowledged with ‘ok’ and Luke added, "Don't give Mrs. Taylor any more coffee. Watch over her for a nap at noon."

Although Luke's attitude was cold, his eyes had never left Elsa since she came down.

Margaret had been paying attention to Luke's gaze toward Elsa, and now she was extremely surprised to hear him instruct the maid in such detail.

Luke, who had grown up with her, had never treated a woman like this before.

"I envy Miss Miller. You treat her so well," Margaret said softly.

"Margaret, you should call her Mrs. Taylor." Luke withdrew his gaze from Elsa, who was walking away, picked up the bowl that was half-full of bird's nest she had left behind, and ate it while speaking seriously.

"Luke, Aunt told me that Elsa is always scheming. You marrying her was just a passing fancy. Now that I'm back, we..." Margaret's gentle hand covered Luke's hand.

"Margaret, the past is in the past. I'm married now, and I have no intention of getting a divorce. It's been a few years since you've been back, Uncle and Aunt miss you a lot, so I'll have the driver take you back later." Luke calmly withdrew his hand.

"Luke, she's not your type. Do you really love her?" Margaret had lost her initial gentle and generous demeanor long ago. Her beautiful eyes were filled with tears as she looked at Luke sadly.

"Luke, why don't you like me anymore? Is it because I've been divorced? Luke..." By the end, she threw herself into Luke's arms, crying more and more fiercely.

Elsa saw them when she came downstairs again.

She had originally planned to tell Luke she was leaving, but when she saw the situation, it was unnecessary. She passed by the two of them and walked straight out.

"Where are you going?" Luke asked as Margaret held him.

Elsa must have touched up her makeup a bit. She looked much better than she had when she was eating earlier. She had tied her hair up, and the oversized hoodie on her upper body contrasted with her slim, straight legs in jeans. Her feet were in a pair of white canvas shoes, and she exuded a casual beauty. Luke couldn't help but stare.

She had been trying hard not to look at the two of them, but when Luke asked her that question, she turned around and said, "I'm going out for a bit to deal with something."

She didn't want to say she was going out to look at houses again, so she could rent a new one. Given the situation, divorce was inevitable, so it was better for her to find a place first.

"What are you dealing with?" Luke finally broke free from Margaret's arms. 'Being watched by Elsa makes me feel like I've been caught cheating., Luke thought.

"It's something personal. You guys continue. I'm leaving." Elsa refused to answer Luke directly and quickly left the house.

"You're becoming more and more unreasonable..." Luke's words were cut off as she had already disappeared.
