Chapter 334 The Kiss Mark on the Adam's Apple
Luke certainly knew what Elsa meant; she just wanted to leave some marks on him so he couldn't explain it to Hailey.
She never liked to suffer losses, and he had known that for a long time.
She sucked on his Adam's apple, as if venting her anger.
Luke's throat tightened, and the sensation of her sucking made him feel tingly and excited.
Elsa was clearly seeking revenge, but he interpreted a bit of affection in her actions, making his breathing quicken.
"Baby, if you don't want me to force myself on you here, you'd better let go," Luke said hoarsely after a while, struggling out of the endless desire to fasten her bra.
They delayed for about half an hour before coming out of the workspace.
Elsa went to the restroom first to tidy up her clothes, splashed some cold water on her face to cool down, and only returned to her private room after the heat subsided.
"Sorry, I just stepped out to take a work call." Elsa was always good at pretending, and these alumni weren't that familiar with her, so they wouldn't pry too much. No one suspected anything.
Even if they did, Elsa wouldn't care.
When she returned, Oliver was chatting quietly with Chloe, holding a wine glass, while Lola's face looked extremely displeased.
Some people had already started to leave, but Lola's eyes were glued to Oliver. As long as he didn't leave, she wouldn't either.
"Do you two have each other's contact info? Exchange contacts. When Chloe and I hang out, we can invite you too," Elsa said from the side.
Chloe's social circle was too narrow, which was why she couldn't forget Jonathan. If someone pursued her actively in the future, she might gradually forget about Jonathan.
Elsa was good at pretending, but Luke didn't even bother to pretend.
He could still smell Elsa's scent, and there was a big red mark on his Adam's apple from her sucking. He nonchalantly loosened his shirt collar and went straight back to the private room.
"Luke, where did you go? I was looking all over for you," Hailey said, leaning on his shoulder with a bit of a pout when she saw him return.
"Your neck!" Hailey suddenly exclaimed.
Even with no experience, Hailey knew the red mark on Luke's Adam's apple wasn't simple.
Everyone present was Hailey's friend. They were there because Hailey wanted to introduce her boyfriend Luke to them.
After Hailey's exclamation, they quickly glanced over and then lowered their heads, pretending they hadn't seen anything.
It was obvious that Luke had gone to meet a lover during that half hour.
"What happened?" Hailey's eyes reddened, and her voice carried a sob.
"There must be mosquitoes in the hotel, right?" Luke said nonchalantly, leaning back in his chair and glancing around.
Even if Hailey was naive, she could tell the difference between a hickey and a mosquito bite. But at that moment, she was scared.
If she dared to insist it was a hickey, then she and Luke would only have one path: breaking up.
Luke didn't care at all; he would be happy to break up. He watched her facial expressions change with a mocking smile, waiting for her reaction.
"What do you think?"
His expression seemed to say, "I cheated, so what?" For the first time in her 18 years, Hailey understood the meaning of "enduring humiliation."
She was a princess, always held in high regard, and now she had to humble herself for love.
Of course, her love meant nothing to Luke.
"Of course, it's a mosquito bite. I'll get someone to buy some ointment for you later," Hailey finally compromised after a long pause.
Luke smiled, "Alright."
The alumni gathering ended.
A few people left together, and Chloe called for a designated driver, saying goodbye to everyone at the door.
"Ms. Miller, it's better to keep a low profile," Lola whispered in Elsa's ear.
"Ms. Hill is right. Spending tens of thousands of dollars today is nothing, but don't end up losing big for the sake of face and not even being able to afford pants. Your family's business hasn't been doing well lately, has it?"
"Are you investigating me?" Lola's face turned ugly, feeling exposed.
Elsa certainly didn't have time to investigate Lola; Lola wasn't worth her effort. But people's behavior is consistent. If Lola was willing to play second fiddle to Jasmine, her family's business must be struggling.
"You're in your twenties; it's time to help with the family business," Elsa said, making her point before distancing herself from Lola.
"Luke and I are heading back now. Goodbye," Hailey's sweet voice sounded as she clung to Luke's arm, saying goodbye to her friends.
