Chapter 116 Going Crazy
"What the hell is wrong with you this early in the morning?" Elsa yelled.
Elsa was furious. She wiped the corner of her injured lip with the back of her hand and unbuckled her seatbelt to get out of the car.
However, Luke swiftly locked the car door before she could get out.
"What’s your problem?" Elsa turned and glared at him.
"You're my wife. If I can't kiss you, should I let Jonathan Green kiss you?" Luke, driven by jealousy, mumbled and leaned in for another kiss.
Elsa finally understood why Luke was acting crazy.
"Jonathan Green and I are not what you think!" Elsa was also infuriated.
"If a man constantly shows kindness to a woman and helps her with everything, don't you know what that means? Elsa Miller, do you think Jonathan has no interest in you? Do you think you can keep using him as long as you retain that ambiguity? When did you become so naive?"
After Luke spoke, he lunged at Elsa for another kiss.
Elsa desperately dodged, hitting her head against the car door with a dull thud.
Luke felt a pang of pain in his heart but still held Elsa tightly. With a forceful tug, he ripped off her shirt buttons.
"I want you to remember that you belong to me," Luke said as he tried to slide his hand under Elsa's skirt, intending to make love to her in the car.
Another car passed by. Perhaps the driver noticed something unusual with the Cullinan, so he honked its horn.
"Luke Taylor, don't respect me!" Elsa, forcibly restrained in Luke's arms, was so distressed that she burst into tears, her voice hoarse.
Seeing her tears, Luke's anger instantly cooled. Abruptly, he released her.
Elsa, her eyes red and filled with fury, glared at Luke and tried to get out of the car again.
Luke took off his suit jacket and draped it around Elsa, then reached out to lock the car door, denying her the chance to escape.
Realizing she was trapped, Elsa ceased her futile struggle, but she never again cast a glance at Luke.
Luke knew he had angered Elsa again and sighed inwardly. Once they got home, he carried her inside.
"Go upstairs and rest for a while. I'll have Lisa bring up some soup," Luke said.
Elsa just turned her head away, stubbornly refusing to look at Luke.
After settling Elsa upstairs, Luke finally had a moment to send a message to Max on Facebook.
Luke: [Transfer $300,000 to Jonathan Green, saying it's for Vincent's recuperation expenses. Send more if needed later.]
Soon, Max sent back a screenshot of the transfer.
Luke asked, pretending to be nonchalant: [What did Jonathan Green say?]
Max: [He didn't say anything and just accepted it.]
Max was puzzled by Jonathan's response too.
Wasn't Jonathan taking care of Vincent to impress Elsa? Why did he accept Luke's payment without any objections?
Luke: [Alright.]
Luke's mood finally improved a bit.
Meanwhile, Elsa lay awake in the room, her anger at Luke simmering as she mentally prepared her next move.
At that moment, a Facebook message from Jonathan popped up, featuring a screenshot of a $300,000 payment. The sender was Luke.
Elsa couldn't help but think, 'Is $300,000 to a wealthy person as trivial as me spending $3 on a pancake?'
She had felt indebted to Jonathan, but now it was all on Luke.
'Let me owe them, since I can't repay it anyway,' Elsa thought indifferently.
Jonathan: [By the way, Emily was beaten up by Luke again a few days ago and dumped at the Miller family’s doorstep.]
Without needing to ask, Elsa knew that Luke was standing up for her. After a morning of brooding, Elsa's mood finally brightened.
