Chapter 260 Mr. Taylor Didn't Want to See You

Elsa was at a loss for words and hung up immediately.

Luke usually comes back late, so she could go later and still catch him.

But they were divorced, not very peacefully. If Luke felt embarrassed, avoiding her at all costs, there was nothing she could do. Elsa still went to the villa at eight o'clock in the evening.

"Mrs. Taylor is here!" Lisa saw Elsa and rushed out to greet her with a look of surprise.

She didn't know about Elsa and Luke's divorce, only thinking that they had a serious fight.

"Lisa, I've already divorced Luke. You can just call me by my name from now on," Elsa said, feeling a pang of sadness.

"I've been so worried that you and Mr. Taylor would separate." Lisa's eyes reddened before Elsa's did.

"It's okay, Lisa. I'll come to see you whenever I get the chance." Elsa hugged her gently, comforting her softly.

Only Elsa knew that this was a kind lie. Once she was in prison, she wouldn't get out for a long time.

Elsa suppressed the bitterness in her heart. "Where's Luke?"

"He's been busy in the study all afternoon and hasn't come out," Lisa said.

It seemed he probably waited for her. Elsa's heart beat faster, and she couldn't help but take a deep breath.

"Elsa, should I go inform him first?" Lisa asked.

It was appropriate to inform him. After a short while, Lisa came downstairs, looking a bit awkward. "Mr. Taylor said you can pack whatever you need yourself; he's a bit busy."

During the time Elsa was away, Lisa had seen Luke leaving early and coming back late, without even a smile. Seeing Elsa, Lisa thought Luke had come back specifically to wait for her.

After getting such a response, she couldn't help but sigh at the complexity of emotions in wealthy families.

"Mr. Taylor has indeed been very busy lately. He often doesn't come home until after midnight," Lisa quickly explained, afraid Elsa would feel uncomfortable.

"Okay." Elsa nodded gracefully, feeling a bit of pain in her heart.

She didn't have much stuff; a suitcase and a cardboard box would be enough.

The walk-in closet was kept spotless by Lisa.

She packed the clothes she had brought before the marriage, leaving the ones Luke had bought for her untouched.

Once in prison, there would be no chance to wear them. Elsa smiled bitterly to herself as she packed.

There were many skincare products on the dressing table, but they wouldn't be needed.

In the bathroom, their toothbrushes were still in the same cup. The current body wash had just been opened, still with the scent of orange blossom.

Luke's early bath products had a pine scent. One day, Luke used the orange blossom one in the guest bathroom and Elsa complimented him. "You smell so good, honey." The next day, she found the master bathroom had the same scent.

Luke was meticulous, especially when it came to her. Despite his cold exterior, Elsa knew he was more sensitive than she was.

He didn't want to see her anymore. What must he feel seeing her toothbrush and favorite body wash every day?

Elsa steeled herself and went to knock on the study door.
