Chapter 166 Luke, Don't Go

Elsa was tossing and turning in Luke's arms, all restless-like.

"Don't go!" she blurted out, half-asleep.

She said this kinda stuff a lot in her sleep, and Luke was pretty used to it by now.

He pulled her head closer to his chest, letting his heartbeat chill her out.

She was probably dreaming about her mom again. Her mom's death had messed her up pretty bad, and Elsa still had a lot of baggage from it.

Luke held the back of her neck, thinking she might need more help. She'd been popping her meds a lot lately.

"Luke, don't leave me," Elsa mumbled.

Luke was caught off guard.

"Elsa," he whispered, "do you even know what you're saying?"

He wasn't sure if other couples had cute nicknames. He either called her "baby" when things got steamy or just "Elsa" on the regular. Their relationship was tight but sometimes felt a bit off.

Elsa didn't answer, looking all troubled.

"Don't go," she mumbled again.

Luke couldn't stay mad at her.

"You gotta behave and stop flirting with other dudes, okay?" he said, leaning in for a kiss.

Elsa felt her breath catch in the dream, and her hands were all over the place.

The next morning, Elsa woke up to find Luke gone.

[Hey, took a few days off for you to chill. Made breakfast. It's in the microwave. Heat it up yourself. For lunch, just order room service from the hotel. - Luke.] The note on the bedside table left Elsa scratching her head.

She got the first and last parts. But the middle? She knew the words but couldn't piece them together. She felt like she was having a brain fart.

Luke made breakfast?

Skeptical, she headed to the kitchen. There was food, and not just her usual toast sandwich. It was coffee, toast, and a poached egg!

Was she dreaming? Luke actually cooked for her!

That meant he wasn't mad anymore, right?

Elsa was over the moon. She sent a message to Luke showing the empty bowl and showered him with praise.

Elsa: [Thank you, babe! How can there be such a perfect guy like you—hot, makes bank, and cooks. I'm so happpy.]

Her gloomy mood from the past few days vanished, and she felt way more alive.

Luke found out that Lisa had taken leave in the morning. Elsa hadn't eaten properly for two days, and he worried she'd mess up her stomach, so he cooked himself.

Of course, he didn't know how to cook, but he was smart enough to figure it out. He watched a video and found it pretty easy.

Seeing to Elsa's over-the-top praise, he smugly lifted his chin and casually replied with an ellipsis.

Her words showed her in a good mood. Finally, she wasn't like she was yesterday.

"So how are you gonna pay me back?" he asked on a whim, sending a voice message.

"How about I give you a bath?" Elsa replied.

That was unexpected. Luke chuckled, picturing Elsa in a maid outfit, waiting on him, looking up at him. He felt heated up just by imagining it.

Luke: "Alright, I wanted you to play golf with me. Let's do both. Play golf with me in the evening, then wear a maid outfit to give me a bath."

His tone was flat, like he was talking about the weather. Elsa blushed.

Elsa: "You just made the breakfast; it's not necessary."

Luke: "You'll be willing."
