Chapter 128 Taking Her Home

Elsa had been in a haze for what felt like forever. She used to think tying the knot with Luke would be enough, no matter how much he strayed. But these constant betrayals? Way too much.

She just couldn't deal with a cheating dude.

Elsa was floored by her own thoughts. She had married Luke with such pure intentions—how did it get so messy?

'Whoever falls in love first loses,' Elsa thought.

'Luke, what's the point of pretending to care, huh?' Elsa sneered inwardly and hit up Chloe.

"Got time? Just got back from Light City."

At the Diamond Crest Clubhouse, Chloe popped open a bottle of vodka for Elsa. As she watched Elsa toss in large ice chunks and mix it with various drinks, Chloe couldn't help but laugh.

"If you poison yourself, don't blame me. Your hubby might come and wreck my club," Chloe teased.

"Don't mention him." Elsa pouted, shook the mixer like she didn't care, and poured drinks for both of them.

"What happened?" Chloe asked. From what she'd seen, Luke seemed to care about Elsa in his own way, even if he was distant.

Elsa spilled the whole story and even showed Chloe Margaret's Facebook.

"She really knows how to play innocent. What are you gonna do?" Chloe's face darkened after seeing it.

"I haven't decided yet." Elsa had no idea.

Logically, staying Mrs. Taylor would help Elsa counter the Miller family. Luke had helped her a lot, both openly and secretly.

But emotionally, Elsa couldn't stand Luke being involved with other women.

"Not everything has to be done by Luke," Chloe said, downing her drink. "Elsa, what I admire most about you is your smarts and kindness."

She continued, "But with Luke, you're bound to get hurt. You think you can use him and then walk away clean? No way."

"Stop it!" Elsa downed her drink and poured another round. "I can walk away unscathed. You know I can!"

"No, you can't! You lack security. Anyone who treats you well, you give them your heart. You might walk away physically, but what about your heart?" After a couple of drinks, Chloe's face was flushed, and she spoke more bluntly.

Elsa's heart could never return to its original state. Since Elsa had never been in love before, it was normal for her to be heartbroken for a few days after the first breakup.

Lost in thought, Elsa didn't say a word. The alcohol slowly took effect, making her dizzy, and she just smiled at Chloe.

Honestly, Chloe was also very beautiful. She had a different look from Elsa, with a dignified and elegant aura.

Chloe, standing at 5'7", had an oval face, her hair simply tied back, and her clean skin had a rosy tint from the alcohol.

"You've never been in love and you don't understand." Elsa leaned in to touch Chloe's face. "If I were a man, I'd marry you."

"You're so sensitive. I wouldn't marry you." Chloe pouted, giving Elsa a proud glance.

As Chloe and Elsa drank and joked, they gradually forgot about their earlier troubles.

When Jonathan and his friends came in, they saw Chloe and Elsa drinking at a booth near the entrance. After a few rounds, both their faces were flushed, looking stunningly beautiful in their slight drunkenness.

"Mr. Green!" Elsa saw Jonathan too and stood up unsteadily to greet him.

"You were in Light City during the day and now you're back drinking at night?" Jonathan greeted his friends before taking a seat beside Elsa.

Hearing Elsa call him Mr. Green, Chloe immediately knew his identity and quickly put on a friendly smile. "What would you like to drink, Mr. Green? It's on me."

"Aren't you going to introduce us?" Although he asked Elsa, Jonathan's eyes hadn't left Chloe since he walked in.

"This is my friend Chloe Clark, the owner of this club. And this is the Mr. Green I always mention." Elsa quickly introduced Jonathan and Chloe.

"I've heard the owner of this club is a beauty, but I didn't expect her to be so young." Jonathan's gaze was too blatant, making Chloe's back instantly tense, and her hand holding the glass trembled slightly.

Chloe had someone bring another bottle of whiskey for Jonathan. The three of them had been drinking for only about five minutes when a tall figure appeared above them.

"Excuse me, I'm here to take Elsa home." Luke frowned slightly, looking at the drunken and dazed Elsa, his heart tightened.
