Chapter 63 Going to Work Together
Elsa had always been very quiet person, but seeing as how she was able to talk endlessly this time, Chloe could instant feel Elsa's love for Luke.
"When have you ever been like this? Something's off with you," Chloe spoke matter-of-factly.
"I don't think so," Elsa replied, a bit embarrassed.
"You're the kind of person who easily throws yourself completely into something, regardless of the consequences," Chloe said, her tone growing more serious. She didn't know much about Luke's character, but she understood how passionate and obsessive Elsa could be.
"If you and Luke Taylor can grow old together, that's great. I just hope that if anything goes wrong, you won't hurt yourself," Chloe advised.
"Chloe Clark, I'm only getting close to him for revenge. I know what I'm doing," Elsa said, though her confidence was wavering.
Elsa was unsure of her feelings for Luke. She even felt that falling in love with him while seeking revenge was a betrayal of her mother. She shouldn't be indulging in romantic feelings. And she didn't have the energy for it.
Chloe sighed, "You better really know what you're doing."
In the blink of an eye, the second week arrived.
Elsa had been eagerly awaiting the day she would start her internship at Dalton Banks.
She got up an hour earlier than usual and wore a simple white suit with pointed high heels, making her look more professional and capable.
By the time Luke came downstairs, Elsa had already quickly downed a cup of coffee and was about to head out.
It was the first time Luke had seen Elsa dressed so formally, and he discreetly sized her up.
"Where are you going?"
For Luke with tall figure, Elsa seemed too petite, so her fit in the suit surprised him.
'How could such a slender body support such broad-shouldered, straight lines? Yet, it unexpectedly gives off a bit of an imposing aura. The black shirt buttoned up to her neck under the white suit exudes a sense of control and authority. She seems out of reach now,' Luke thought.
At that moment, Luke couldn't help but recall the image of this queenly Elsa beneath him, begging for pleasure. As he imagined the delicate figure under the suit, his face remained expressionless but his ears quickly turned red.
"To work," Elsa said, wondering if Luke was suddenly going to change his mind.
"No rush, we'll go together in a bit," Luke said as he sat down to eat breakfast, pretending to be nonchalant.
"But it's not on the way."
"Dalton Banks' design headquarters has moved to the Taylor Building, on the 15th floor."
Luke wouldn't tell Elsa that he had someone clear out the 15th floor of the building in a week and redecorate it, moving Dalton Banks' design department over the weekend.
Luke was no longer satisfied with just seeing Elsa at home every day. He wanted to go to and from work with her together.
But he couldn't say that out loud. Even if he did, Elsa wouldn't believe him.
"Why did they move?" As far as Elsa knew, Dalton Banks' office location hadn't changed for at least 10 years. She had been determined to study jewelry design and work at Dalton Banks since middle school, so she paid close attention to any changes there.
"Something about bad fortune over there," Luke lied casually.
'Bad fortune? Dalton Banks has been thriving for years, and now they suddenly discovered that there was bad fortune in the design department. This reason isn't convincing,' Elsa thought.
But it didn't matter to Elsa. As long as she could intern at Dalton Banks, she wouldn't care if the company moved to Mars.
"Sit down and have breakfast. We'll go together when we're done," Luke said, slightly annoyed by his flimsy excuse. But he quickly regained his cool demeanor.
