Chapter 143 Jonny Jones's Private Seal

Elsa crashed until noon after her late-night hospital run.

First thing she did when she woke up was hit up Jonathan to say thanks.

Jonathan had just kicked off his career in Maplewood City and even clocked Dylan for her, which might stir up some trouble later. Elsa felt kinda bad about it.

But Jonathan just laughed it off and joked, "If you really wanna thank me, how about you treat me to a meal sometime?"

"Absolutely!" Elsa felt a weight lift off her shoulders with his chill vibe.

She got ready in a flash and headed out to meet Jonny.

What Elsa didn't know was that Luke hadn't gone to the office either. He was working from home.

Luke was in the study, going over project bids, when he heard the bedroom door creak open and footsteps heading downstairs.

"Lisa, I'm heading out for lunch, no need to cook for me," Elsa called out to Lisa, who was busy in the kitchen, as she changed clothes and drove off.

'Elsa's grabbing lunch with Jonny, huh? She doesn't even know I stayed home,' Luke thought.

He felt a knot in his stomach. Remembering Elsa's teary eyes from the night before, he tried to keep his cool.

"I'm not eating either," Luke said after Elsa left. Then he drove to the office.

Luke got caught up in a social event that evening and didn't get home until after nine. Elsa was lounging against the headboard in a beige robe, reading. The soft light highlighted her proud and beautiful profile.

Seeing Luke come in, Elsa glanced up, pouted, and then looked back down.

Luke knew she was still pissed. He leaned over, took the book from her, and placed it on the nightstand, aiming for a kiss.

"What's this?" A black leather box on the nightstand caught his eye.

"Jonny's personal seal," Elsa said, opening it to show him.

Jonny was the next in line to inherit the Jones family legacy. Luke understood the significance of Jonny's personal seal. His expression turned icy.

"Elsa, you actually got Jonny Jones's personal seal. That's something," he said grumpily.

"Jonny said it's compensation for me. I'll need it for the Light City project," Elsa said, fiddling with the seal like it was no big deal.

'Who doesn't keep their personal and official seals in a safe?' Luke thought.

Jonny handed it to Elsa so casually. No one would believe there was nothing between them.

And Elsa accepted it so naturally, showing their relationship didn't require formalities.

Feeling uneasy, Luke snapped, "Elsa, remember you're married! How is taking someone's personal seal any different from accepting a diamond ring?"

He grabbed Elsa's chin, trying to read her thoughts.

Elsa put the box back and sneered, "Can you compare a diamond ring to a personal seal? Many men buy diamond rings and jewelry for women but still cheat. How many would give their personal seal? Jonny said I could drain the Jones family if I wanted."

Luke realized Elsa was doing this on purpose.

"Elsa, are you proud of this?" The thought of Elsa being happy about another man made Luke furious.

"Not bad, when the husband is useless, an outside lover can be quite appealing," Elsa retorted.

Jonny had issues with Dylan and, due to recent events involving Elsa, was eager to see him sent to prison.Jonny gave his personal seal to Elsa to help her with Jones family projects. Initially, Elsa didn't want it, but Jonny insisted, so she took it reluctantly.

Elsa said this just to piss off Luke. After thinking about the previous night, she felt humiliated.

As expected, Luke's face turned ugly. He reached out, and Elsa thought he was going to hit her, so she closed her eyes.

But Luke just braced one hand beside her and used the other to tear her silk robe.

He whispered, "Elsa, I'm gonna show you who your husband really is."
