Chapter 220 The Price Family Dinner

After a sleepless night, Elsa dragged herself out of bed and called the hotel front desk to order an espresso.

Thinking about it, she realized how far she'd come from staying in youth hostels during her travels to living a life of luxury. She owed a lot of that to Luke.

Luke had given her so much, and here she was, feeling ungrateful and resenting him for not loving her enough. She was being greedy.

Luke didn't owe her anything.

If she hadn't let herself fall for Luke, she wouldn't be in this mess. If she had kept her original mindset, she wouldn't care if he had other lovers.

If things stayed tense between them, divorce was inevitable. When that time came, she'd return the pink diamond and the office building he had given her.

Her heart ached, and her stomach churned. Elsa put down her coffee and rushed to the bathroom to vomit.

'Must've been the alcohol from yesterday,' Elsa thought.

After vomiting, she felt a bit better. She didn't force herself to go to the casino but instead lay back down on the hotel bed.

Meanwhile, Brian was wandering around the casino, looking for Elsa but couldn't find her. He felt a strange sense of disappointment.

It had been a while since he met a gambler like her—someone with an unusual style and a calm demeanor. Elsa spent lavishly to please him, and even when things didn't go her way, she didn't show any defeat.

He even felt that, deep down, Elsa was like him, and her words yesterday hinted at that.

Helping her wouldn't be impossible.

Even though he hadn't been in the "glove" business for years, he still had useful contacts.

With Elsa gone, Brian lost interest after just two rounds.

He went downstairs for some coffee, but was disappointed when he didn't see Elsa.

Then he thought, given her personality, she wouldn't give up so easily. Maybe Elsa had run into some trouble.

Elsa lay in the hotel for another half day before finally dozing off.

Around 4 PM, the doorbell rang, and the hotel front desk delivered an invitation.

Today was the winter solstice, and the richest family in Stellaria City, the Price Family, was hosting a family banquet at their mansion and had invited her to attend.

Elsa was surprised. It was common for local casino-going tycoons to notice her recent flamboyant behavior, but the only acquaintance she had was Brian, whom she had just met. If she had any connection to the Price Family, it was only through financial news reports about George. The Price Family inviting her to a family dinner made no sense.

Could it be that George had found out she was Luke's wife and was extending the invitation out of respect for Luke? However, she couldn't be sure just from an invitation.

Elsa's gut told her she had to go.

She hadn't packed an evening gown in her suitcase, and for such a dinner, there was no need to prepare one specifically.

So Elsa found a relatively formal dress, bought a box of pastries, and went.

The Price Estate's style was similar to the Taylor Family Estate, with a tree-lined private road leading to a well-maintained cluster of old buildings.

As soon as Elsa arrived at the entrance, a servant came out to greet her respectfully, "Ms. Miller, please follow me."

Elsa nodded and followed the servant inside, wondering why the Price family had invited her.

To her surprise, as soon as she entered, she heard a familiar voice. "George, is this the friend you invited?"

Elsa never expected that this so-called family dinner would be so small in scale that, besides her, only George and Brian were present!
