Chapter 302 Coercion

The familiar scent of orange blossoms enveloped her—it was Luke.

"Let go of me." Elsa pushed him away. The voice-activated light turned on, revealing Luke, whom she hadn't seen in nearly a month, standing in front of her with bloodshot eyes.

He was more haggard, making his eyes appear even larger. His right hand was in a soft cast, hanging by his side.

"What are you doing here?" Elsa suppressed the pang of heartache and looked up at him.

"Are you really with Leo?" Luke stared at her, his voice hoarse.

His pitiful eyes made him like an abandoned pet.

Elsa hadn't seen the news. After a moment's thought, she could guess the situation. She took a deep breath, softening her attitude. "Come in and talk."

She unlocked the door with her fingerprint and let Luke into the apartment.

Luke leaned against the sofa, staring at her. Elsa poured him a glass of water from the dispenser and sat down across from him.

"Leo doesn't genuinely like me. He's probably doing this to provoke you," Elsa said calmly as she watched Luke down the glass of water.

This was the charm of Elsa; she said exactly what Luke was thinking.

Luke, having his words taken from him, looked a bit embarrassed.

"I don't know what kind of grudge you two have, but I don't want to be involved with either of you anymore. Let's part ways amicably."

She avoided looking at Luke's injured hand, trying to appear as composed as possible.

Her relationship with Luke was a tangled mess. She decided not to dwell on it, just hoping for a peaceful parting.

After getting her answer, Luke calmed down.

"What if I want to pursue you again?" Luke finally spoke after a long silence.

Wasn't he with Margaret? Elsa was confused but didn't want to ask more.

"Don't dwell on the past. I want to start a new life for myself," Elsa said patiently.

Clearly, her new life plan didn't include him. Luke's jaw tightened, his eyes deep and intense, fixed on Elsa.

Elsa maintained a polite distance. "I need to rest. Can we talk another day?"

Her intention to send him away was obvious.

Before Luke could respond, Elsa's phone rang.

Why was Leo calling so late?

Elsa answered, and Leo's voice came through. "Are you asleep?"

"Not yet. What's up?" Elsa asked calmly.

"Nothing. I just can't sleep." Leo's voice had a hint of a low chuckle, full of teasing.

Elsa felt a bit guilty and glanced at Luke. "If there's nothing, I'm hanging up."

Luke had already seen the name on the phone when she answered, his brow furrowing tightly.

"I do have something," Leo said again.

"Then just speak up." Elsa's patience was wearing thin.

"The wine in your glass was indeed sweeter. I wonder if your lips taste sweet too."

If he had said this to any other girl, she would have blushed. But Elsa wasn't buying it; she hung up expressionlessly.

She looked at Luke, whose face had darkened, and continued to urge him to leave. "It's late. You should go."

"Elsa, you know Leo is interested in you. Why don't you change jobs?" Luke had overheard their last conversation. His nerves suddenly tensed, and his eyes filled with anger.

Elsa, who had been patient all evening, was now annoyed. She looked at him with a half-smile. "What does that have to do with you, Mr. Taylor? Did you forget we're already divorced?"

Luke stood up and pulled her into his arms with a strong force, her shoulder hitting his chest with a dull thud.

"What are you doing?" Elsa struggled. The more she struggled, the tighter Luke held her. He even used his injured hand to tear at her clothes.

Elsa panicked and slapped Luke. "Let go!"

Luke remained silent, still pressing her onto the sofa behind them.

"Luke! We're already divorced! What are you doing?" Elsa was shaking with anger, her voice low.

"If I can't have you, you'll sleep with Jonny or Leo!" Luke, driven by jealousy, spoke without thinking.

"I can sleep with whoever I want. It's none of your business!" Elsa furiously bit down on Luke's neck, tasting blood but not letting go.

The pain was nothing to Luke. He let her bite him, forcibly taking her despite her resistance.

He was like a mad beast, leaving Elsa defenseless.

"Luke, you bastard! I'm calling the police!" Elsa was full of anger. Unable to resist, she fought back with defiant words.

Luke remained silent, not stopping his actions.

Eventually, Elsa's face turned pale, her voice weakening, showing extreme discomfort.
