Chapter 195 Jasmine Returns to the Country

Jasmine got home early after wrapping up her studies.

Margaret and Terry heard the news right after their romp in the hotel. Margaret was momentarily stunned.

Jasmine was Luke's cousin and Nathan's older sister. She'd been studying abroad for the past few years.

"When Jasmine gets back, we can't meet up in private anymore," Terry said, leaning against the headboard and puffing on a cigarette like it was no big deal.

"What does Jasmine coming back have to do with us?" Margaret asked, confused.

Margaret was puzzled. The tight bond between Luke and Terry hadn't stopped Terry from hooking up with her.

"Don't you know why she's coming back?" Terry looked at Margaret with a hint of mockery, like she should've known.

"The family's pushing me to marry Jasmine," Terry said.

After finishing his cigarette, Terry slowly put on his shirt. "That's all I can do for you. Don't contact me anymore. I don't want Jasmine finding out about us."

"But do you even like Jasmine?" Margaret couldn't help but ask, though the rest of her question was swallowed by Terry's mocking gaze.

"Margaret, we're just friends with benefits. You can't expect me to wait around while you chase after Luke. That's not how it works," Terry said.

Terry seemed to find something funny. He chuckled, got dressed, and was about to leave.

Maybe it was Terry's dismissive look that made Margaret blush with embarrassment.

Margaret wanted to ask if he could put in a good word with Luke and Debbie, but she couldn't bring herself to say it.

"Don't waste your time with Luke. He doesn't have feelings for you," Terry said, reaching the door and suddenly turning back to give her some advice.

Margaret suddenly realized and blocked Terry's way. "But you said a few days ago that Luke has feelings for me and he's just been misled by Elsa. You said if I kept at it, I could win him over!"

"If I didn't say that, would you have been so eager to sleep with me?" Terry raised an eyebrow flippantly. "Margaret, do you think every guy in the world has to be a lapdog for you to be happy?"

Margaret was both ashamed and angry, and it took her a while to find her voice. "You lied to me. You said you liked me."

Terry did like her once, but now there was only disdain.

Terry said nothing and walked out the door.

"Aren't you afraid I'll tell Luke about this?" Margaret's voice suddenly became sharp.

"Go ahead," Terry said, not stopping as he walked away.

Besides Margaret, the person most troubled by Jasmine's return was Elsa.

Because she would be forced to go to the Taylor Estate for dinner and blend into the "harmonious" Taylor family.

"Do I really have to go?" Elsa found out about this on her way home from work. Seeing the driver heading towards the Taylor Estate, she began to resist.

"Jasmine's back. How can you not go see her?" Luke asked.

Luke knew she didn't get along with Debbie and tried to persuade her gently. "As for my mom, she won't make things too difficult for you in front of relatives. Just go through the motions."

The Taylor family was huge. Among Luke's generation, there were many cousins, but Jasmine was the only girl, and she was very spoiled.

With Jasmine back, Debbie invited Aaron Taylor's family for dinner, and naturally, Luke had to go back.

"Alright," Elsa reluctantly agreed.

Luke was right. As his wife, it would be rude not to show up. Elsa decided to speak less and leave right after dinner.

But things didn't go as Elsa had hoped.
