Chapter 288 Frank and Open
Elsa felt a strange sensation in her heart. Just yesterday, Luke had kissed her in the bathroom stall, and now he acted like he didn't even know her!
Chloe and Jonny's expressions changed when they saw Luke's arrival, but Elsa managed to suppress her discomfort and remained calm. Watching Jasmine leave, she raised her glass to everyone and said, "Come on, let's drink together."
Jasmine's appearance seemed like a minor interlude that didn't disrupt the overall atmosphere.
Everyone continued drinking until past eleven at night. Elsa and Chloe finally supported each other as they left Jonny's house.
"Jonny, thank you," Elsa whispered to Jonny.
"No need. Anyway, I should teach Jasmine a lesson; she's been getting out of hand lately. I'm just unlucky that she likes me," Jonny said nonchalantly.
Chloe laughed. "No wonder you're so charming!"
As Elsa and Chloe left Jonny's house, Chloe called a cab to take Elsa part of the way. They were silent for a while during the ride, and then Chloe suddenly said, "I sent the video of Jasmine to Terry, but I didn't expect it to bring Luke over. I'm sorry. It might make Luke misunderstand your relationship with Jonny."
"You were trying to help me; there's no need to apologize. Besides, I have nothing to fear from seeing Luke. If he wants to misunderstand me, then let him." Elsa leaned against Chloe, comforting her.
She shouldn't be constrained by others.
At the entrance of the neighborhood, Elsa got out of the car and hugged Chloe again. "If you and Mr. King need my help, just let me know. It's not easy to find someone you truly like in this life."
