Chapter 187 Jonathan's Purpose

Karen was too freaked out to say anything.

David figured he'd throw Phyllis under the bus to save her. She was young, and he thought she could help bring the Miller family back to life.

Since Dylan could ask that question right off the bat when he saw her, then there was no need to ask; he definitely did it.If she called out Dylan and he denied it, and Sean in the slammer denied it too, it wouldn't prove squat. It'd just stir up more drama for the Millers.

Karen was in shock for a bit. Then she grinned and crouched down by Dylan's feet.

"Nah, Dylan. I just missed you, that's all," said Karen.

Dylan's face softened up. He patted Karen's head like she was a good dog.

Karen had hit rock bottom. Since she decided to leave her mom locked up, she couldn't let Phyllis's sacrifice go to waste.

She was out for revenge against Elsa and focused on bringing the Miller family's name back.

Thinking this, Elsa knelt beside Dylan and leaned on his leg.

"Dylan, I missed you." She reached for his belt.

"Get lost, you witch! Here to mock me?" Dylan stood up and kicked Karen in the chest, knocking her down.

A few folks knew Dylan had HPV, and Karen was one of them.

Since Dylan's plan to frame Elsa blew up in his face and he got his butt kicked, there was bad blood between him and Karen, and he never touched her again.

Karen wanted to show she was loyal, to say she didn't care about his condition. But it hit a nerve.

She didn't know Dylan had surgery and felt wronged by the kick.

"Dylan, what the hell?" Karen got up, tears streaming down her face.

"Get out!" Dylan threw something at her. "Get out!"

While Elsa was healing up, Vincent crashed at the villa for over a week.

Since the Taylor and King family pads were close, Vincent often hung out with Eric. Sometimes, he even stayed for dinner at the King family's place.

Jonathan was super fatherly with Vincent.

Lately, he was buying stuff in pairs; if Eric got something, so did Vincent. He treated them the same: Eric got chewed out for being picky, gaming too long, and drinking cold drinks in late autumn. Vincent got the same deal.

Vincent hadn't had a proper education; most of what he knew came from his mom and sister. So Jonathan bought a ton of classics and made him catch up and write reflections.

Vincent had never felt fatherly love. Jonathan's treatment, even the scolding, made him happy and close to Jonathan. When Vincent talked to Elsa about Jonathan, his face lit up with admiration.

Elsa was taken aback.

With Jonathan's status and wealth, he didn't look up to many. His kindness to Elsa and Vincent seemed weird. Elsa often wondered why she deserved it but couldn't figure it out.

Did he want to win over Luke? Didn't seem like it.

With Luke's attitude, if Jonathan stayed away from her, it might be more likely.

This doubt stuck with Elsa until she first stepped into the King family.
