Chapter 251 Divorce Tomorrow Morning
Elsa's suicide attempt was no less genuine than her previous wrist-slitting. When it came to such matters, she was always ruthless with herself.
Last time she cut her wrists with a determination to die, but this time, she was gambling. She convinced that with Luke's feelings for her, she would survive.
When Luke saw her sever her blood vessels, his face turned pale with fright. He immediately contacted the people at the villa to rush her to the hospital.
"The blood vessels were severed, and two-thirds of the tendons were cut. If you had been any later, they wouldn't have been able to reattach," Karida said, having personally performed the surgery on Elsa.
Even though he was used to big scenes, he still looked terrified when he came out.
"Get a divorce, Luke. Both of you will suffer deeply," he said, placing a hand on Luke's shoulder.
Elsa was too ruthless. Marrying a woman like her was asking for trouble.
Luke sat outside the emergency room, looking dejected. He had always been in control since childhood, but when it came to Elsa, he felt powerless.
Elsa was still under anesthesia, sleeping. He looked at her from a distance, her increasingly pale and frail appearance making his heart ache.
"Honey, didn't you say nothing could hurt you except your mother's death? Now, I'm the one causing you pain too." He spoke softly as if afraid to scare her.
No one responded to him.
Accroding to Karida, she was lucky to survive this time, but she wouldn't be so fortunate next time.
Luke kept her confined at home. Although he anticipated the possibility of Elsa's depression relapsing and her engaging in self-harm, he never imagined she would take her own life.
He never imagined that she would be willing to die fore him.
"I can't believe I hurt you like this. I'm sorry." Luke's voice carried a hint of vulnerability and choking that he hadn't even noticed.
Elsa slept for over twenty hours before waking up.
"You're finally awake! Do you want some water? I'll get the doctor!" Chloe rushed over, a familiar scene that had played out countless times.
Elsa had something on her mind. Upon waking, she didn't even care about the pain in her wrist. "Where's Luke? Did he agree to the divorce?"
Luke stood not far away, feeling as if his heart was being pricked by countless needles. Divorce had become her obsession.
"I agreed, Elsa," he said, trying to sound as calm as possible.
Elsa looked at him, her eyes filled with emotions he couldn't understand.
Then Elsa smiled. "Well, I wish you happiness in the future."
Luke added. "Take care of yourself. We'll handle the divorce paperwork on the day you're discharged."
She had to finalize the divorce before anything else happened!
Elsa felt uneasy inside but maintained a calm smile as she negotiated with him. "No, I'm fine now. Let's go now."
Her lips were cracked from not drinking water for over twenty hours, her face was pale. She looked so weak that a gust of wind could blow her away.
"Are you in such a hurry?"
Luke felt like he could barely stand.
Elsa just smiled. "A short pain is better than a long one."
At that moment, Luke's heart plunged into an abyss, shattering into pieces.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow morning."
