Chapter 372 Revenge (Part 2)

Margaret found herself being led into a car by a boy, feeling confused and disoriented.

The car drove further and further away, eventually leaving the city and heading into the dark countryside where there were no streetlights.

"Where are you taking me?" Margaret asked, her heart pounding as she fumbled for her phone, only to realize she couldn't make any calls.

"Don't bother. The car has a signal jammer," the boy said with a mocking tone.

"What do you want?" Margaret's face turned pale with fear as she hurriedly asked.

"Nothing much. Just following orders to bring you somewhere," the boy replied as the car stopped at an abandoned warehouse. He got out and yanked open Margaret's door.

"Don't do anything stupid," Margaret trembled, refusing to get out of the passenger seat.

Suddenly, several burly men with masked faces appeared out of nowhere, binding Margaret's hands and feet. They dragged her out of the car and into the warehouse.

The alcohol in Margaret's system vanished in an instant, replaced by sheer terror.

"Who are you people? What do you want?" she cried, tears streaming down her face.

"Nothing much. Just following orders to give you a taste of being locked up in a warehouse," the leader of the group said with a sinister laugh.

"The boss instructed us to throw Ms. Collins in the warehouse, keep her away from light, and deprive her of food and water. Let's see how long Ms. Collins can survive."

What? They were going to lock her up and see how long she could last? Margaret's eyes widened in horror, forgetting to beg for mercy.

"Doesn't this warehouse look familiar, Ms. Collins?" the man asked.

With his reminder, Margaret realized this was the same warehouse where she had locked up Elsa last time.

Could it be that Luke had discovered her secret?

She had been so careful, even Ian hadn't found anything. How did Luke know?

"Are you sent by Luke?" Her heart raced as she asked, trembling with fear.

"The more you know, the quicker you die," the man laughed menacingly, looking at Margaret's pitiful face. He then asked the others, "Did the boss say we couldn't touch Ms. Collins?"

"No. You want to have some fun? Can we join in after you're done?" One of the men asked with a lecherous look.

"No! Stay away from me!" Margaret screamed, retreating in terror as the group closed in on her.

The mysterious disappearance of Margaret Collins, the heiress of the Collins family, became big news in Maplewood City. It was reported that Margaret was found on the fifth day after her disappearance.

When the police discovered her, she was unconscious, lying naked in an abandoned warehouse, covered in signs of abuse. Her lower body had been brutally violated with a bottle.

Margaret's mother, already in poor health, fainted upon hearing the news. It was Luke, the CEO of the Taylor Group and Margaret's childhood friend, who took charge of sending both mother and daughter to the hospital for urgent care.

Margaret's mother spent five days in the ICU and was left with a stroke, making her movements difficult.

As for Margaret, after five days of terror and deprivation, she was diagnosed with acute schizophrenia and sent to Maplewood City's psychiatric hospital.

In the hospital, Margaret was a far cry from her usual beautiful and gentle self. Her eyes were wide open, but she couldn't focus on Luke's face. Her voice, worn out from days of screaming for help, sounded like a broken machine, hoarse and terrifying.

"It was you, wasn't it? You did this!" She accused Luke, looking like a wild ghost with disheveled hair.

"No, it's your deserved punishment," Luke's eyes were cold and disdainful as he looked down at Margaret.

"In the past, I was too lenient with you because of our childhood friendship. Margaret, for the rest of your life, you will atone for your sins here."

He let out a cold laugh and turned to leave.

Margaret let out a horrible scream, trying to lunge at him.

Immediately, two burly nurses restrained her, injecting her arm with an unknown substance.

"Ms. Collins' condition is severe. She won't recover in five years, right?" Luke asked.

Even the most clueless person could understand his intention.

"Of course, Ms. Collins will likely remain in this state for the rest of her life," the nurse replied.

Luke nodded.

This was Margaret's deserved punishment, yet he still felt it wasn't enough.

He wanted to see Elsa, to tell her the whole truth.
