Chapter 366 The Cat's Out of the Bag
"Is that so?" Luke looked past Jasmine to see Terry's face and asked coldly.
His eyes were filled with disappointment.
Terry looked ashamed and remained silent, his neck stiff.
"Luke, let me explain!"
Margaret, who had given up hope of winning Luke over, was now desperate. Seeing his expression, she rushed over to grab his arm and explain.
"Get lost." Luke forcefully shoved her to the ground.
Margaret's head hit the armrest of the hotel sofa, and she cried out in pain. Seeing Luke's look of disgust, she quickly suppressed her pain. "Luke, listen to me! My feelings for you are real, it's just that you ignored me too much."
Luke shot her a cold glance, forcing her to swallow the rest of her words.
"Luke, they've been together since last summer when Margaret just got back. Look!" Jasmine, standing nearby, showed Luke the printed records of their hotel stays.
"Shut up." Luke's face was like a thousand-year-old glacier. His voice was calm and even, but it carried an undeniable authority that made Jasmine fall silent.
"Terry, I want you to speak." He looked into Terry's eyes.
This was his childhood friend, yet he had been sleeping with the woman pursuing him while trying to push her onto him.
He had no romantic feelings for Margaret; what Terry did with her was none of his business. What bothered him was that they had this kind of relationship, and Terry still acted as Margaret's advocate, trying to get him to marry her.
Luke considered Terry his best friend, but to Terry, he was apparently easy to deceive.
"There's nothing more to say. It's exactly as you see it, Luke. It's all my fault. This time, I'll accept any punishment you give." Seeing the cold disappointment in Luke's eyes, Terry's heart ached, and he finally spoke.
Indeed, he had done wrong. He hated Margaret for playing with emotions and wanted to give her a taste of her medicine. Acting as her advocate was just a means to get her body.
But his mistake was in deceiving Luke.
He had long anticipated that this day would come, a day when everything would fall apart.
Luke, Terry, and Karida had an unspoken agreement: if one of them did something wrong and still wanted to maintain the relationship, they had to accept punishment from the others until the anger was gone, and then it would be forgiven.
Over the years, they had their disagreements, but this rule had kept them from falling out.
Accepted punishment?
Luke sneered and punched Terry in the face.
"Terry, you're not worthy."
The punch landed on Terry's nose, causing blood to flow.
Margaret, who had been making excuses earlier, was now too scared to make a sound, waiting for Luke's judgment.
But Luke didn't spare her a glance and walked out.
Terry had been involved with Margaret since last summer, which meant that the opportunities he had created for her were likely exchanged for her body.
What did it feel like to be betrayed by someone close to you?
Luke sat in his car, speeding down the road, trying to calm his emotions.
But for a long time, he felt as if he had swallowed a dead fly, utterly disgusted, and his heart felt like it was being repeatedly stabbed, a bloody mess.
"Investigate Margaret and Terry thoroughly." After speeding through the outskirts for over an hour, he finally released his pent-up frustration and calmly instructed Max over the phone.
