Chapter 68 Let's Talk
A few days ago, Margaret also attended the Christie's auction,
At that time, a mysterious buyer bid a high price of $15 million for the legendary pink diamond bracelet. Everyone marveled that Maplewood City indeed had hidden magnates. Margaret was also secretly speculating about the identity of this behind-the-scenes buyer.
When she saw that pink diamond bracelet was on Elsa's wrist, the answer was clear.
Luke actually spent such a fortune for Elsa, leaving Margaret momentarily breathless.
Debbie also noticed the change in Margaret's expression and followed her gaze to see the pink diamond on Elsa's wrist.
Debbie immediately mocked, "Ms. Miller, your appetite is much bigger than I imagined."
Such an embarrassing remark would have made anyone else blush with shame.
But Elsa remained calm and said, "My appetite is quite average, but my husband is willing to feed me."
Luke was clearly pleased by this, a slight smile tugging at his lips.
"Let's go. It's still early for dinner. I'll show you around." Luke put his arm around Elsa's waist and led her away.
Luke took Elsa on a leisurely tour around the Taylor family estate. It wasn't her first visit, but it was the first time she looked so closely.
Elsa suddenly realized the weight of Debbie's words, "The Taylor family has been aristocrats since ancient times."
The Taylor family's house was over a hundred years old and had been renovated in recent decades. The traditional gray tiles and white walls, as well as the tall, intricately carved gates, all exuded the grandeur of a wealthy family.
Following Luke through the pavilions and towers, Elsa discovered that there was even a connected water system at the Taylor family estate. There were also dense vegetation and rockeries, like a fairyland.
"Brother!" A chubby little boy who was about five or six years old, suddenly ran over and jumped into Luke's arms.
"My cousin, Nathan Taylor." Luke introduced Nathan to Elsa, holding him with one arm.
Nathan Taylor's features bore some resemblance to Luke's but were much softer. Nathan's face was a bit chubby, with round and puffy cheeks, he looked extremely adorable.
'Was Luke like this when he was a child?' Elsa thought.
Elsa couldn't help but reach out and poke Nathan's cheek.
"Pretty sister, hold me!" Nathan, when seeing Elsa teasing him, he opened his arms towards her.
"Call her sister-in-law," Luke said, not letting go of Nathan.
'No way, Elsa was so slender. How could she hold him?' Luke thought.
"Sister-in-law!" Nathan obediently called out, continuing to stretch his chubby arms. He said, "I want sister-in-law to hold me."
So Elsa reached out and took Nathan into her arms.
"Sister-in-law is so pretty. I like sister-in-law," Nathan said, giving Elsa a kiss on the cheek.
Luke's face darkened, and he grabbed Nathan by the collar, pulling him back.
"No kissing my wife."
"When I grow up, I want to marry sister-in-law."
"She's my wife and you don't stand a chance." Luke pinched Nathan's cheek, bantering with him and saying, "By the way, why are you here?"
"Aunt said there are important guests in the front hall and asked me to call you back." Nathan finally remembered his task.
"You go ahead. I'll enjoy the scenery myself." Elsa knew that Debbie wanted to keep her and Luke apart, but she didn't mind. After all, she could see Luke every day.
So Luke found a pavilion and let Elsa sit down to rest.
"Wait for me here, I'll be right back."
Seeing Elsa nod, Luke left with Nathan.
Elsa idly played on her phone in the pavilion. The warm autumn sun shone down, making her a little drowsy.
So Elsa leaned against one side of the railing and dozed off.
"Ms. Miller, let's have a chat," Margaret's voice sounded above her.
