Chapter 362 Oedipus Complex

Elsa's words made Jonny feel a bit more at ease.

He took a deep breath, lifted his head, and looked into her eyes again.

"Dylan is not going to make it, you know that, right?"

Elsa shook her head slightly; she really wasn't clear about Dylan's condition.

"He hasn't been doing well for a while. He's already given up on treatment." Jonny's tone was flat. He had no real feelings for Dylan, and it was as if he were talking about a complete stranger.

Elsa remained silent.

Although everything was Dylan's fault, she had a direct connection to his current situation. If Dylan hadn't made a move on her back then, Luke wouldn't have gotten so angry and set him up with two girls who had STDs to drag him down.

"He got what he deserved. You don't need to feel guilty." Jonny noticed Elsa's complex emotions and quickly said, "The doctor said his illness had been in the latent stage for years."

"Dylan, seeing that he's not going to make it, has used all his connections to try to get Wind out. It probably won't take more than a month or two."

"So what do you mean?" Elsa seemed to have guessed but still wanted to confirm with Jonny.

"Don't let him out. At least for a year, don't let Wind out. Dylan wants to see him free before he dies, so he can go in peace. I won't allow it. Dylan has done evil all his life; why should he get to die peacefully? I want to make sure his last wish is unfulfilled, that he dies in unrest." Jonny's gentle demeanor suddenly tightened, and his gaze at Elsa was incredibly serious, filled with a murderous intent she had never seen before.

"With your ability and connections, keeping Wind locked up for another year shouldn't be that hard."

"At a time like this, I can't make a move." Dylan wasn't dead yet, and with so many eyes in the Jones family watching, if Jonny obstructed Dylan's efforts to get Wind out and left any clues, it would undermine his credibility when he took over the Jones family.

Elsa understood after a brief thought.

"Alright, I'll give it a try."

She, Jonny, and Jonathan were essentially the same type of people: those who had been severely traumatized by their biological fathers and could only grow by destroying them.

That day, she saw Jonathan pushing a vegetative person in the hospital, and that person was Dale.

Dale was alive but had no sense of life. He could have signed off on ending treatment years ago. But Jonathan said, "Dale has done too much evil; he can't just go like that. He has to live to atone for his sins."

Forcing someone who could have suffered less to stay in the world, wasn't that also a form of revenge?

This matter wasn't too big or too small. Elsa felt that if she acted as the intermediary, Jonny's chances of success would be higher. But she would owe a favor.

It didn't matter; she and Luke already had a tangled mess of debts that couldn't be sorted out.

After saying goodbye to Jonny, Elsa rushed back to the factory's live streaming room just in time for the evening broadcast.

Elsa had been busy with Jonny's matter all day and hadn't had time to eat lunch or dinner. When the live stream started, she finally felt hungry. Although she didn't need to interact energetically with the fans, she had to maintain a cool demeanor. She could work on her computer during the live stream, but eating was out of the question.

To suppress the discomfort in her stomach, Elsa drank more water.

Three hours of live streaming, just grit her teeth and get through it. Elsa sat next to the host, frowning, browsing through the fashion designers' sketches on her computer, and enduring the discomfort.

Later, her stomach began to protest, cramping in waves.

Elsa glanced uneasily at the screen; there was still an hour left. She had to hold on.

She reached for a thick sample book on the table and discreetly pressed it against her stomach. Her face, though pale, remained calm and composed in front of the camera.

Elsa had never felt time pass so slowly. One hour felt like a century.

When the live stream ended, she stood up with a pale face. Her silk dress was soaked with cold sweat.

Only then did everyone notice something was wrong with her.

"What's wrong, Elsa?" the female host asked, reaching out to support her.

"Nothing, I haven't eaten all day. My stomach hurts, and I'm a bit dizzy. I'll be fine after I get something to eat." Elsa forced a smile and started to walk out.

A young girl quickly took a lollipop from her bag and handed it to her. "Lara, have some candy first. The dizziness might be from low blood sugar."

Elsa thanked her and walked out of the live streaming room on shaky legs.

As soon as she stepped out, she saw Luke standing there with his arms crossed, frowning. "Elsa, are you so dedicated that you don't even care about your health just to make money?"
