Chapter 142 Karen Miller Gets Beaten

"Why you back so early, Mr. Jones?" Karen asked.

Late at night, Karen heard the door crash open. She was shook to see Dylan's face all messed up.

In an act of sheer rage, Dylan landed a hard smack on Karen. She hit the floor, screaming."Karen Miller, you think you can play me?" Dylan, usually all smiles, now looked like he was about to explode.

"No! Mr. Jones, let me explain!"

Seeing Dylan like this, it was clear he had failed. Karen, holding her burning face, cried out and lay on the ground for a long time before barely getting up.

"I'm innocent, Mr. Jones!"

"Innocent? You told me Luke didn't give a damn about Elsa, and it was all BS!" Dylan, with bruised eyes and humiliated in public, took all his anger out on Karen.

Still not satisfied, Dylan kicked Karen hard in the stomach, making her fall again.

"I'm telling you, without me, the Miller family would have been toast long ago. If you lie to me or use me again, don't blame me for turning on you!"

With that, Dylan stormed out, slamming the door.

Karen clutched her aching stomach, cold sweat dripping from her forehead, unable to recover for a long time.

"Weren't you supposed to stall Luke? How could you mess up such a simple task!" After a long time, Karen barely got up and collapsed on the living room sofa. Frustrated and with no outlet for her anger, she dialed Margaret to vent.

"I was supposed to stall until 9:00, and I held him off until 9:30. I went the extra mile, but you still managed to mess things up. You should blame yourself for being useless!" Margaret, already in a bad mood because of Joe's illness, was immediately infuriated by Karen's accusations.

"Margaret Collins, what kind of attitude is that? Don't forget that if Dylan had succeeded, you would have been the biggest beneficiary! Aren't you afraid I might spill the beans to Luke?" Karen, feeling wronged from both sides, was already losing her composure.

"My attitude? If worse comes to worst, we'll both go down. Try it if you dare. Let's see if Luke believes you or me!" Margaret angrily hung up.

As for Dylan, after storming out of Karen's place that night, he didn't go back for several days.

But he wasn't just chilling. He hit up several clubs he often visited, and he found some "new targets".

For a few hundred bucks, he could have a pretty girl provide full service. The deeper he indulged in these pleasures, the more he felt humiliated by his previous failure.

However, Luke practically controlled half of Maplewood City. Despite taking an L, Dylan didn't dare to say much.

'There will be plenty of chances to get my dignity back,' Dylan thought bitterly, not realizing his body could no longer handle such excesses.

"Mr. Jones, these are the new girls, Cici and Zoey." As soon as Dylan entered the club, the smiling owner introduced two girls in short skirts, full of high-tech charm.

"Cici, Zoey, this is our VIP client, Mr. Jones. Say hello."

Cici and Zoey exchanged glances and approached together. "Hello, Mr. Jones!"

Dylan nodded and sat down on the sofa in the lobby.

Cici and Zoey lit cigarettes and poured drinks, sitting on either side of Dylan.

"Mr. Jones, you are so handsome and charming."

"Mr. Jones, your traditional outfit looks amazing."

Dylan enjoyed the flattery from Cici and Zoey, their perfume scent making his heart itch.

So, Dylan waved to the owner. "Do these two have health reports?"

Men who played in high society were both indulgent and cautious. Girls in such places always needed to have health reports.

"Yes, let me show you," The girl named Cici said, already sitting on Dylan's lap.
