Chapter 62 You've Fallen for It

The Miller family home.

"David, look at what your good daughter has done! She actually beat Karen up like this!"

Phyllis looked at her daughter with a bandage wrapped around her head, feeling heartbroken and venting her anger on David.

"Elsa is just bad news! Especially now that she's gotten a marriage license with Luke Taylor. Our family has no hope left!"

Although Luke, as he promised, had invested a large sum of money in the Miller family, which was enough for them to live on for a while, Phyllis was still very resentful that Karen couldn't marry into the Taylor family as Luke's wife.

"I've said all the good things, and I've made all the threats. What else can I do?" David spread his hands helplessly and said, "I told you not to push Leslie Green and her daughter too hard. If we hadn't driven Leslie to her death, Elsa might have married into the Taylor family and benefited us. But now, that woman only has hatred for the Miller family."

"David Miller, are you blaming me ? I think you regret driving Leslie to her death not for the Miller family, but for yourself! Are you still entangled with Leslie?" Phyllis who was furious, put her hands on her hips and started arguing with David.

"What are you talking about! If I had any old feelings, why didn't I stop you when you controlled Vincent Miller's heart? We're outmatched now, so what's the point of getting mad at me!" David was also furious and started arguing with Phyllis.

"Father, Mother, stop arguing!" Karen shouted, covering her ears. David and Phyllis finally quieted down.

"At this point, you should find me another marriage prospect, preferably someone related to the Taylor family. That way, if our family runs out of money, the Taylor family won't just sit by and do nothing." More importantly, this would continue to make Elsa's life difficult.

"You're right," Phyllis quickly said. "Don't worry, I'll look into it. David, you should also use your connections."

"Yes, my daughter is so sensible." David nodded quickly.

"But I won't let this matter go easily." A hint of malice flashed in Karen's eyes.

After a night of intimacy, Luke took out his phone and sent a message to Max once Elsa was asleep.

Luke: [Keep an eye on the top luxury jewelry auctions.]

Max: [Mr. Taylor, what's the budget?]

Max was most reliable as always. He instantly responded on Facebook.

Luke: [More than $5 million, no upper limit.]

Max: [Got it.]

The reply was concise , but Max was already deeply shocked.

'That's a huge amount! Does he plan to buy jewelry for Elsa or Margaret?' Mac thought.

After all, Luke's lavish spending on Margaret back in the day was still a popular topic of conversation.

Max got up in the middle of the night to gather information and soon compiled it into a document and sent it to Luke's phone.

Max: [On the 5th of next month, Christie's auction house would have a pink diamond bracelet as the highlight of the auction. The bracelet is made of ten 10-carat pink diamonds and is expected to sell for over $10 million.]

Luke: [Alright, I'll go there then. Keep it a secret from Elsa Miller.]

'He wants me to keep it a secret from Elsa, so he's buying it for Margaret? Is Luke going to cheat? That's too much.' Max thought silently.

Meanwhile, Elsa was surprised that the marriage crisis brought by Margaret was so easily resolved.

"How can I compare to Margaret Collins? She has the family background, the capability, and she's even more beautiful than me. And she even calls Luke 'brother.' What man can resist that?" Elsa vented to Chloe over the phone.

"Luke's reaction really surprised me. Do you think it's possible that he likes me?

"But if he likes me, why did he kick me out of the car on our wedding day and make me walk back! What kind of man does that to a woman he likes? He always gives me the cold shoulder and gets angry easily..."

"Stop. Stop. Hold on." Chloe quickly interrupted Elsa.

"Elsa, I can't tell if Luke likes you, but you definitely have feelings for him."
