Chapter 343 Leo Takes Care

"Elsa!" Karida followed her out.

"Hailey is young and not very bright. Don't take her too seriously."

Elsa forced a smile. "I know, it's okay. Please take care of Luke for me."

While hovering on the brink of death, Elsa thought that if she miraculously survived, she might consider remarrying Luke.

After all, there weren't many people in this world who had shared life-and-death experiences. Meeting Luke felt like destiny, beyond her efforts.

But she had overlooked Hailey's presence. Now, Hailey was his legitimate girlfriend.

Someone like Luke couldn't be forced into anything. It's likely he chose Hailey for his reasons. Elsa was sure of Luke's feelings for her, but remarrying wasn't that simple.

Moreover, wasn't she the one who had firmly refused to remarry not long ago? Going back on her word would only make people despise her.

Karida wanted to say something but felt that nothing would be appropriate. After a long pause, he tentatively said, "Maybe this is just a temporary measure for Luke. Hailey is new and exciting for now, but as time passes, they'll naturally break up. It won't take more than a month or two."

He wasn't sure if he could tell her about the three-month agreement, so he could only hint at it indirectly.

"I'll go now. I'll cook some porridge and bring it over later. Just say you bought it from outside."

They were silent for a long time before Elsa finally spoke.

Allergies came on quickly, but with proper treatment, they also went away quickly. By the end of the day, Elsa felt fine.

Elsa borrowed a kitchen at a small restaurant near the hospital and made porridge according to Luke's usual preferences. She brought it back in a thermos, which took no more than three hours.

She called Karida from outside the hospital room, asking him to take it in to Luke.

Luke hadn't woken up yet, and Karida didn't feel it was appropriate to say much about their situation, so he sighed and took the porridge.

By the time Elsa finished all this, it was late at night. Her colleagues from LEO Gems Company had already been sent home to sleep, leaving only Leo to stay and keep her company.

Leo staying at the hospital to take care of her made Elsa feel guilty.

Besides, she didn't think she needed any care. If she could cook porridge, why would she need someone to look after her?

"Mr. Adams, if you stay here, are you taking care of me, or am I taking care of you?" Elsa couldn't help but ask, seeing Leo lying on another bed playing with his phone.

"Of course, I'm taking care of you. Do you want some water? Or do you need to use the bathroom?" Leo quickly put down his phone and asked.

"I don't think I need any care." She certainly didn't need him to take care of her personally.

"You said you didn't need care this morning, and you almost died." Leo was still shaken, remembering how bad Elsa had been when he arrived at the hospital.

"This morning I was at a rancher's house, but now I'm in a hospital. If I feel unwell, I can call a doctor directly." Elsa knew he meant well, but he was her boss, and being taken care of by him felt strange.

"Don't be so polite with me. It's no big deal. You don't need to be too grateful, and you don't need to marry me out of gratitude." Leo lay on his side, propping his head up and looking at her.

"You should thank me for your first time sleeping in the same room with a woman." Elsa teased him.

Sure enough, Leo exclaimed, "I came to take care of you out of the goodness of my heart, and you're hitting me where it hurts! If you keep this up, I'll give you my first time, and you'll have to take responsibility!"

Seeing Leo's frustration, Elsa's gloomy mood finally lifted, and she couldn't help but laugh. "I'm not interested in your first time. You have a face that screams 'not capable.'"

"Elsa, you can't say things like that!"

"My annual physicals show my kidneys are the healthiest part of me!"

"Impossible. Use it or lose it. You're probably already done for."

"Elsa, you're asking for it!" Leo was exasperated.

Elsa had always been reserved and aloof, and this was the first time she had joked around with Leo like this. Although they had made headlines together, deep down, she always thought Leo was gay.

But as luck would have it, their playful banter was overheard by Luke, and it took on a different meaning.
