Chapter 93 The Miller Family Escorts the Bid
Luke spent the whole afternoon in Jonathan's office and grabbed the dress Jonathan had given Elsa just before heading out.
On the drive home, Elsa noticed the dress lying on the back seat and felt uneasy.
"This dress is way too expensive. Sure, it's nothing to Mr. Green, but it stresses me out," Elsa told Luke. "I should find a good time to return it."
"The Taylor family has everything. What's a dress? But remember, as Mrs. Taylor, not every gift is okay to accept," Luke replied.
"Eric Green ruined my dress, and Mr. Green gave this to me as an apology. Are you jealous?" Elsa, sensing the tension, leaned in and wrapped her arms around Luke's neck.
"You should be jealous. I'm so charming and everyone loves me," Elsa teased, nuzzling Luke's neck like a kitten.
Luke, exasperated, pulled her onto his lap.
"I know you want to stop the Miller Group from winning the bid, but why didn't you come to me?" Luke said. "Even if I casually arranged for a company to bid, it would be more reliable than you going to Jonathan alone."
"I wanted to give it a try on my own first. If I fail, you can back me up," Elsa said, hugging and kissing Luke.
Elsa didn't expect to see Jonathan again so soon.
"Didn't you have something to tell me yesterday?" Jonathan asked.
In the restaurant, Jonathan cut the steak into small pieces and handed it to Elsa. He then took her plate and continued cutting.
"Yes." Elsa was surprised that someone of his status would take such care of her. She was momentarily slow to react.
"Go ahead," Jonathan urged.
"Well, do you have time? I have some information for you to see." Elsa didn't touch the steak on her plate and sat up straight.
"I have nothing else to do this afternoon." Jonathan nodded, allowing Elsa to continue.
So Elsa took out her phone and showed Jonathan the information she had painstakingly prepared.
"Mr. Green, there are 40 companies bidding for the Prosperous Abundance Group project, and 8 have entered the second round. Among these 8 companies, at least 5 are shell companies registered by the Miller family.
"Stellar Solutions' legal representative is Benjamin Hill, the younger brother of David Miller's wife.
"SkyLift Technologies' legal representative is Olivia Williams. This Olivia Williams' insurance is under the Miller Group's name, indicating her close relationship with the Miller Group.
"And this one...
"And this one...
"If my guess is correct, the Miller Group must have colluded with your company's executives to secure the bid. This is not the first time that the Miller Group has registering multiple shell companies to accompany in a bidding. I'm sure you can see through this."
Elsa listed all the evidence in front of Jonathan. She had prepared thoroughly for this moment.
Jonathan's expression gradually became serious.
"Elsa Miller, you're smart and composed beyond your early twenties," Jonathan praised her instead of commenting on the Miller Group's actions.
"You flatter me. Since the bidding results have been delayed well past the initial due date, I believe you already suspected there's something wrong with the Miller Group and kept delaying it. I just happened to provide you with the evidence," Elsa said.
"You are also part of the Miller family. Why are you so eager to ruin David Miller's career? Can I know the reason?" Jonathan looked into Elsa's eyes, full of curiosity and interest.
