Chapter 137 Greasy Middle-Aged Man

"Thanks," Elsa said, trying to keep it cool while she pulled out her drawing board.

She inquired in a professional tone, "So, you're thinking about a set of gemstone necklaces? Got any materials in mind?"

A million-dollar order meant a sweet $30,000 commission for Elsa and the salesperson. The only catch was having to endure Karen's public displays of affection. Elsa would be foolish not to seize this opportunity.

'Karen's bragging about landing some greasy middle-aged dude? Seriously?' Elsa thought, keeping her face straight.

"No rush, Ms. Miller. I definitely want you on this, but I've got something urgent. Let's sign the contract and drop a deposit first. We can hash out the design tonight," Dylan said.

He had the salesperson bring out the contract, signed it, and made a call to transfer a $100,000 deposit.

"Did it go through?" Dylan asked with a grin.

"Yep, the company confirmed it," the salesperson said, her hands shaking with excitement. This was the biggest order of her career.

"Thank you, Mr. Jones! Thank you!" The salesperson quickly stood up and shook hands with Dylan..

"If you wanna thank someone, thank your colleague Ms. Miller. Without her, you wouldn't have gotten this order." Dylan's eyes roamed over Elsa without shame. "If there's nothing else, you can go. I'll handle the rest with Ms. Miller."

After a bunch of thank-yous, the salesperson left, leaving Elsa alone with Dylan and Karen. She felt super uncomfortable but thought of the $30,000 commission and professionally confirmed the requirements with Dylan.

Dylan, however, wasn't playing ball. "I've got something urgent now and can't discuss the details with Ms. Miller. How about we reschedule?"

"Just give me the general idea, and I'll send the drawings to your email," Elsa suggested.

'The fewer times I meet with Dylan, the better. Seeing Karen by his side, I know this commission won't be easy to get,' Elsa thought.

This couldn't be that simple. Elsa needed to tell Luke quickly and let him figure something out.

"Ms. Miller, this is a big order, and I've already paid the deposit. If you mess it up, how will you continue in this industry?" Dylan wasn't mad at Elsa's eagerness to distance herself; he just smiled faintly.

"But Mr. Jones, I don't think it's appropriate to meet you during personal time," Elsa replied sincerely. Anyone could see this was a trap.

"Ms. Miller, it's your call. If you agree, meet me at 7 PM at the Summit Retreat Club." Dylan clearly didn't want to say more and stood up to leave.

Karen hadn't said a word the whole time.

"See, I wasn't lying, was I? Elsa Miller does have some charm and she knows how to attract men." In the car, Karen leaned against Dylan, her eyes half-closed.

"She is pretty hot. But she's Luke Taylor's girl. This could be risky." Dylan thought of Elsa's cold and beautiful face, feeling a pang of desire but didn't dare act rashly.

"What are you scared of? Luke was tricked into marriage by her and can't get rid of her. Maybe you can even help him out. Besides, if you really get Elsa, she wouldn't dare tell Luke." Karen turned around, wrapped her arms around Dylan's neck, and whispered a few more words.

"Just go for it. When you succeed, don't forget to thank me," Karen advised.

"You really are ruthless towards your half-sister." Dylan was already full of thoughts about Elsa, wishing time would pass faster. Absentmindedly, he held Karen.

"Come on, we're both part of the Miller family. It's her luck to be with Mr. Jones," Karen said, a hint of malice in her eyes.
